Giggle Groove

I just love the name of the Unity stamp set "Giggle Groove". This is something I made using Giggle Groove. I used an old Basic Grey paper from a pack called "Perhaps". I was inspired to pull out my older paper from the challenge on Saturday at Our Creative Corner. Have you checked out this awesome challenge blog yet? Each Saturday they post a challenge. This week it is to use an old Basic Grey pack so I thought that it would be a perfect opportunity to go back to this pack that I do love! This week they are having an awesome giveaway as well. Post your creation to their blog here and have a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

For this card I started with Georgia Pacific White paper as my base. The awesome Burgundy patterned paper is by Basic Grey and is from an older pad called "Perhaps". I heat embossed the tree using a sparkly red powder. I punched out dots from a Daisy Bucket paper. I used Stampin Up's Baroque Burgundy paper to mount my images. I have to tell you how bummed I am that SU no longer makes this color, it is one of my favorites and I'm starting to run out! Sigh.... Underneath my images I used a cool pink ribbon fiber. It's very coarse but I think gives a cool texture to the card.

Don't forget you can enter to win my Super Duper Cool Unity Blog Candy HERE. And if you are interested in any old Stampin Up sets check out my list of sets for sale HERE.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Mothers & Daughters Creations Challenge

Here we are again another Thursday and that means another challenge with the gals of Mothers & Daughters Creations. This week the challenge was to use a sketch from the June card sketches at PageMaps.

I am totally loving the new images by Imagainisce so I had to use this great little giraffe for the challenge this week. I started with SU Bliss Blue and Certainly Celery. I used my circle scalloped nestablities to cut the circles and colored my sweetie in using Prismacolor markers. I added some Lime Green Stickles to his spots! The awesome background papers are also by Imaginisce. The "scatter Joy" sentiment is by Daisy Bucket. I added the photo corners with brads because I felt it needed something else. So that might have taken me slightly away from the sketch because it didn't have photo corners. I hope that's ok! LOLOL! I think this makes a nice and very simple card for a new little boy. But heck who says it has to be for a boy right?

Be sure to swing by the blog of the other team members as I know they will have something super fantastic for this challenge.

Bridal Favor Box

This little "favor" box I made using a pre-made favor box. I picked up a pack of them at a local discount store and they are fantastic for decorating/altering. I used a new bridal set by Clear & Simple Stamps . Such a traditional saying and thing all brides like to full fill on their wedding day. The little bouquets is also a stamp from the set which I colored in using Copic markers and added stickles for glitter. The flowers on the bottom are from the Michael's bridal section which were white and I colored them using my Copic marker. The patterned paper is by Anna Griffen and the scalloped paper is by DCWV. I added some pink tissue inside.

What was one great favor you received when you went to a party? I love dolphins and for my wedding favor I used a silver plated dolphin bottle opener. It was so cute! I even had a kissing dolphins ice sculpture, actually thrown in for free because of a few issues we had. I wanted to get invitations with dolphins on them but had no luck in finding such a thing.

Clear and Simple Wedding

This is a project using a new set by Clear & Simple Stamps.

This awesome "blushing bride" was colored using Copic markers. Check out her awesome glittery dress! You know I had to use my stickles for something, doesn't this work out fantastic. I used diamond stickles for this. I used Stampin Up Regal Rose as my pink base. The background paper is by Daisy Bucket. The darling little flower can be found here. It's a white flower with a pop of pink that works perfectly. The ribbon along the left side was in my "ribbon" stash.

That's it for now. Stay tuned for another project using this great new set from Clear and Simple Stamps.

MDC Weekly Challenge - Imaginisce

I know I know it took me forever to make my photos larger! I'm a dope I never thought too much about it but was finally told to just click large image . Sigh.... Can I claim to have Mommy Brain? LOLOL!

This week for the weekly challenge with the girls on the Mothers & Daughters Creations DT we were to use some of the new stamps and papers by Imaginisce. I have to say I love this line! Some of the new ones are birthday and baby stamps. Check them out here at MDC.

I stamped this cupcake using Brilliance Graphite Black and colored using Prismacolor/Copic Markers. I tend to mix them up some since I don't have all the colors of one brand. Then I added lots of Stickles! I love my glitter that's for sure. I used Cotton Candy on the frosting, silver on the wrapper, then Lime Green and Pink for the dots around it. I punched out with a circle punch and then cut two scalloped nestablities to mount the cupcake on. The wonderful striped paper as well as the pink and green flowered one on bottom are both new papers by Imaginisce. The sentiment is also by Imaginisce.

Don't forget to stop and check out what the other DT members have cooked up I know they will have some super fabulous creations to share with you!

Summer Shells

I love this set by Unity Stamp Company called A Beach Day. It is so perfect for the summer cardmaking and scrapbooking alike. I decided to use my fun new foil pen and foils by Bo-Nash on these shells. I love how it came out all shiny, then I colored in with Prismacolor markers. The sentiment relax is also by Unity and is from the Simple Pleasures Kit.

This is a frame/photo album I picked up when I went to a stamp convention, I actually picked it up at a discount store on the way! LOL! I covered it in some paper by Cosmo Cricket, then just added my shells and sentiment. Very simple. The photo I took when we went to the Bahamas a few years ago.

Here is a close up of the shell and the awesome foiling. I love the shine!

Well off I go now.

Unity Inspirational Challenge

Friday was the weekly inspiration challenge in the Unity forum at SCS. Here is the beautiful photo that was this week's inspiration:

I looked at this an really loved the colors. Green, Blue and the brown from the carpet. I had this awesome paper by Daisy Bucket found at Mothers & Daughters Creations, which I thought would work out nicely.

Here is my creation based on this challenge:

I used the Unity set Oh! Happy Day. I heat embossed the large flower image using some great sparkly powder I picked up at a stamp convention by Sprinkle and Sparkle. I colored in the flowers with a Copic Marker and added Lime Green stickles. The butterfly was created using glitter. I picked up a glitter/foil set by Bo'Nash. It comes with a adhesive pen that dries tacky allowing you to adhere foil or glitter. This butterfly is using the awesome blue glitter from the set. I have to say I was very skeptical about getting this set but I love it!! I love sparkle! In the middle I added some Diamond stickles for even more sparkle. The ribbon (American Crafts) underneath looks better to me IRL, but I left it because I didn't want to fuss and mess everything else up. It doesn't look that bad does it? The solid colors are Stampin Up's Close to Cocoa and Certainly Celery.

I had fun playing with this creation. I'm really loving heat embossing again. Is that totally out of date? If it is I don't care I'm bringing it back! LOLOL! I am hoping tomorrow the mailman will bring my new Unity stamps.

Our Creative Corner Challenge - Father's Day

Of course I had last minute Father's Day cards to make. I had this great image by Treehouse Stamps and thought it would work well with the sketch challenge at the new challenge blog Our Creative Corner. (my first card here and last card are based on that challenge) I did move the circle part of the sketch and I sure hope that Cindy does not mind, but it worked better for me this way :-) This card is for my husband from my son. Awhile ago I made a card that would be for my DH from my daughter I had in on this post here. But here is the photo again. It was for a challenge at Beate's blog that week.

This morning I made one more card for my father in law for Father's Day as well. I have a hard time with masculine cards but I think because I don't have stamps that would work.

Hopefully some of my new Unity Stamps will take care of that a bit. I'll be stalking the postman this week for my new goodies.

That's it for now.

Sunflower Burst

Ok, so I'm not 100% sure if this is a sunflower or not but I thought that sounded like a cute title. This is based on a sketch from Page Plans. They are currently have a call for their July guest designers I thought I'd give it a try.

This great flower I picked up at a stamp convention and it's by Class Act. They had some really nice images I picked up a few. I stamped and colored the flower twice using copic markers. I cut out the middle portion on one to create a 3d effect, so I used pop dots to adhere the flower to the base. The awesome patterned paper is by Scenic Route and can be found at Mothers & Daughters Creations. The background ribbon I picked up at Michael's as are the little flowers on bottom. The flowers on bottom are actually a vanilla color and I colored them in with Copic Markers and added Stickles to the middle. The large flower also has some stickles in the middle as well. I used Stampin Up Vanilla for my base and the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The entire card is mounted on Groovy Guava as is the center patterned paper.

Have you checked out "Our Creative Corner" (OCC) yet? Well they just posted their first weekly challenge today! It's a great sketch by Cindy Haffner. The DT for this blog is awesome so you will want to check it out for some awesome inspiration!

I have been cleaning out my craft room and will have some Stampin Up sets for sale real soon so please check back! Also, I'm gearing up for some AWESOME blog candy! I'm getting closer to 10K hits and coming close to a year of blogging. I promise you it's a good one!! You will want to keep your eye out for it!

That's it for now!

MDC Weekly Challenge

Each week the Mothers & Daughters Creations design team will have a challenge. This week is a color challenge: shades of yellow, green and blue - Think Summer! Well, when I think summer I think of the penguin stamps by Imaginisce.

I colored in this adorable penguin using copics and then added GLITTER! I used stickles in Lime Green for her skirt. The base of my card is Certainly Celery and the mat behind is Ballet Blue. The sentiment is also by Imaginisce and I heat embossed it using a dark blue but shiny powder. I used the swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background texture. The paper behind the penguin and sentiment is by Daisy Bucket called Under the Boardwalk. I cut out one of the 4 squares and cut around the flowers so they pop out. Check out the paper in full here so you can see what I mean.

You will definitely want to swing by the other team members blogs as I am sure they have cooked up something fantastic to look at!

Wild & Crazy

Here is a "Wild & Crazy Bunch" card. I used this Unity set and basically used all the animals to create this fun card. A little kooky but I thought it was cute.

I stamped and colored all the animals using Copics/Prismacolor markers and they all have Stickles on them. The base if Georgia Pacific White and I used the distressed embossing folder. The green is SU Wild Wasabi and the yellow with dots is from a DCWV stack pack. I embossed the words using Tim Holtz distressed embossing powders (Vintage Photo), it gives it a cool rough textured effect.

It was fun playing around with these guys and as I got going I thought what the heck let's just put them all on the card! LOL! It's (as are all) a great set by Unity Stamp Company.

That's it for now.

Hanna Stamps Challenge

Kristi at Hanna Stamps has started a 1:1 swap challenge. A new challenge comes along once every two weeks. She posts the challenge then you make something and send it to your partner. The first challenge was a theme - Summer. So of course I pulled out my "Fun in the Sun" Hanna. I decided to do a 3-D altered item rather than a card so I pulled out a wooden from I picked up at Michael's and decorated it. First I painted it white with acrylic paint. The glittery chipboard letter pieces I had in my stash, but thought would work wonderfully for this project. I stamped and colored Hanna with Copics, then added Pink Stickles to her bathing suit. Here is her close up:
On the bottom I added a double flower and some bling.

Did you see the new Hanna's that were released this past week? There was a Cafe Hanna, Anthony and Bookworm Hanna. The Hanna release parties at Splitcoast are always a blast. I was so psyched I won a set also! I was just chatting away and they had a random giveaway. Kristi chatted something asking a question - What is your favorite drink? I immediately thought Oh good god COFFEE and chatted it. Then I was about to log off because I was so tired and right before I do I saw that I won something. I won for being the first one to answer Kristi's question! WOO HOO! SO for that I am getting Cafe Hanna!

That's it for now. Off I go to play with some goodies I picked up this weekend. Did you see that new roller wheel that will allow you to put your clear stamps on it and use it like a wheel? It's by Memory Essentials. I had seen it in a magazine I think Memory Makers and thought now that's cool I NEED one. I saw it at a stamp show I went to this weekend, so I will let you know how it works. I also picked up some foiling and fiber goodies as well as lots of embossing powders and some stamps of course. I've been getting back into using my embossing powders especially with all the great bold images out there. SO I ask you is heat embossing out? Because if it is I'm bringing it back! I just feel like you don't see it that much anymore, maybe that's why on vendor had powders 1/2 price! LOLOLOLOL!!!

Mothers & Daughters Challenge

The Mothers & Daughters Creations challenge this week was to make a masculine card. I had this cool image by Serendipty Stamps that I thought would make a great masculine card. I colored the image in using my Prismcolor and Copic markers. The image is large so I wasn't sure how well it would turn out but I think it turned out pretty good.

I started with Close to Cocoa and used the Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder that is mounted on River Rock. The striped patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Sugared line. I mounted that and the image on Chocolate Chip and River Rock. The brads are by Making Memories. Both layers are mounted using pop dots for dimension.
Edited: I just had to get a better picture of this card. I think this photo is much better. It's rainy and dark so I've been having trouble getting a really nice shot.

Celebrate the Simple Life

Here is yeat another creation using the awesome stamps from Unity Stamp Company.

I started with Certainly Celery and used the Swiss Dots embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. The patterned papers are from a DCWV stack pack. I cut out the two butterflies from the Unity set "Oh Happy Day". I put the small one on the large one using a pop dot for dimension and added Stickles for glitter. The sentiment is from the set called "Simple Pleasures". I used my rectangle nesties to cut out the shapes and the 1/8 hole punch to add the holes around the edges which I think gives a lacey look.

Short and simple today. I'm super tired and trying to get to bed early.

This Friday is challenge day for Mothers & Daughters Creations so be sure to swing on in for that.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sea Shells by the Sea Shore....

I have been loving my new stamps from Unity Stamp Company. This awesome shell is from the kit called "Beach Day" and the sentiment is from "Simple Pleasures".

I started with SU Vanilla and stamped 5 shells using the masking technique. I stamped them in Close to Cocoa ink. I colored using Prismacolor markers. I then stamped 3 more and colored them in but added diamond glitter, cut them out and adhered them to the top using pop dots. The "sand" is actually sandpaper. I added some brown ribbon from American Crafts and the sentiment is in Chocolate Chip and punched using a Marvy oval punch. Here is a close up of the glittery shells:

The other night I was up till after midnight finishing up my submissions for their DT call. I did get it in on time I think I had 4 minutes to spare! LOLOL! I'm glad I did even if I don't get it. Although, the call was for 1 person but today the owner posted that she will be taking on 8 new people!! My chance is a tad bit better now! So we shall see. The big reveal is on Thursday. Fingers crossed, it would be totally awesome to make this team.

That's it for now. I'm super tired and it's late again! I get so wrapped up! LOL!

Unity Inspiration Challenge

As you know I received my wonderful package from Unity yesterday!! Of course I had to make something with it right away. I pulled out "Beach Day" for this challenge. A beautiful photo from Mexico was the inspiration. Check it out HERE.. I of course thought beach and the blues and greens. Here is what I came up with. This is a little "gift" holder. It's folded like a tent so that you can fit a little cello pack inside with a small gift or candy. Perfect for party favors! Here is the side view:

Inside I made a little seashell "gift". A few weeks ago I was walking along the beach with the kiddos and we picked up a bunch of shells. So here is the inside package. I thought it looks cute with the little shells in it. I also used the shell from the Beach Day set and colored with Copics and added diamond Stickles and a silk flower to the back.

The front of this creation is using Wild Wasabi paper by SU and embossing with the distressed embossing folder for the cuttlebug. I heat embossed the flip shoe twice in blue and colored in using Copic makers, added some bling to the end. The "happiness" sentiment is also heat embossed in blue. The patterned beach paper is by Imaginisce found here. The paper flowers are from the Michael's bridal section. I also added some stickles as well.

I think it came out cute, maybe you wouldn't give shells as a gift but thought for my purposes right now it was cute. We are actually going to visit someone at the shore this year so I was thinking this set will be a cool way to make something as a thank you gift.

Well that's it for now. I'm in the process of working on more stuff with the Unity stamps. They are actually having a DT call that ends in like 2 hours! If I happen to pump out 2 more projects in time maybe I will send it in, doesn't hurt. We'll see...

Thanks for stopping by.

Unity Stamp Co Tuesday Inspiration!

I'm up on the UNITY BLOG today sharing some cards I made using 2 stamp sets! I used the February background of the month called   as...
