Happy Halloween!!! Unity HIP HOP HANGOVER

Happy Halloween! Are you ready for some trick or treating? I am! LOL!

Every Thursday is Hip Hop in the Unity forum at SCS. WOW, what a day it always is. Lots of prizes, challenges and chatting! One of the Unity challenges this past week was to use the cover of one of the Twilight Series books as inspiration to make a card. For my simple card I decided to go with the colors: Black, Red and White. Here is my card using the vampire I like to call "Edward" from The Boo Crew kit.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!

Mothers & Daughters Thursday

This week's challenge with the MDC DT was to use acetate. Here is what I came up with. I made this card more the shape of a tag, but the size of a card. I stamped on acetate using Stazon and colored with copics on the reverse side of the acetate. I added stickles to the "ice" underneath these adorable guys (Serendipity Stamps). The background pattern paper is by Best Creations. The glittery snowflake is a Christmas ornament from Michael's. Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog to see all the great creations of the team or the individual team blogs here.

Also CHECK OUT THE DT CALL DETAILS HERE for the Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook team. The deadline is tomorrow so there is still some time to submit your work!

Well that's it for now. Don't forget about my little Cupcake BLOG candy HERE.

BLOG CANDY!!

You have until Nov 1 to enter to win a little blog candy. Check out this post for the details.

Unity Addicts Wednesday

It's Wednesday again and that means it's time for Unity addict Wednesday. This week Cyndi was the challenge picker and she chose a super cool challenge.

She picked a HOPE challenge in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

H - Use a sentiment having to do with Hope
O - Put some ribbon ON your card - Pink!
P - Use something Pink!!
E - Embellish with something that starts with an "m" for Mammogram

Here is my version of the Hope Challenge. For mine I also used this week's CPS sketch, Unity was the sponsor this week. I started with SU Regal Rose and my pattern glitter paper and plain glitter paper is from a DCWV stack pack. I think I covered "HOPE" on my card. My something metal is the brad on the flower. It is metal and it's by Making Memories, so I think that counts. I heat embossed the quote in black and cut out the rectangles using my nestablities. The pink flowers I had in my stash, not sure who makes them but I'm pretty sure I picked them up at Michael's.

That's all for now! Thanks for stopping by.

Queen Kat - BLOG CANDY

Just a reminder of a little blog candy HERE.......

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

Each Monday is a challenge with the scrapbook team of Mothers & Daughters Creations. This week the challenge was to incorporate a flip flap/door on our pages. Here is my version with the door closed.

I started with SU Regal Rose and used awesome pink pattern paper by Imaginisce. The window is made of Chocolate Chip and River Rock by SU. For my title I used Microsoft word and printed onto white cardstock. The lovely flower and brad can also be found at Mothers & Daughters Creations.

Now here is my little door open to reveal the photo inside. HA HA, doesn't that just crack you up! Yes that is my little Kaitlyn after eating some chocolate ice cream. But my DH and I thought was funny but almost creepy because she looked like the Joker! And of course we had just seen The Dark Knight not too long before. So to me it was creepy, if you saw the movie you may agree. LOLOL!!

Who is ready to PARTY!

Have you heard? Queen Kat Designs will be having a birthday in November. YES I know it's still October but I like to celebrate things early! SO in honor I made a little cupcake card. For this card I used the Queen Kat set called Build a Sweet. Go check it out HERE. It's a great set with different possibilities and is designed by the ever sweet Tanis. Tanis was my big help behind getting a new cool banner! Thanks Tanis! On this card I used SU Regal Rose and SU Chocolate Chip. My glittery pattern papers are by DCWV.

Here is the fun part! To start the Queen Kat Celebration I will offer this card as blog candy this week. BUT wait there is more! I made a cute little folder to match and inside I put paper and stamped images (all from Build a Sweet set) so you can make this card yourself.
I will pick randomly a winner next Sunday Nov 2. To be entered leave me a comment about Queen Kat and let me know: Do you own any yet and which ones? If not which ones do you have your eye on? C'mon now treat yourself like royalty, pamper yourself. Check out all the awesome stamps HERE. And be sure to swing by Queen Kats Blog for all the latest and greatest info and heck while you are there wish her an early Happy Birthday!

Well that's all for now!!

Lauren's Weekly Sketch Challenge

Another week has passed and it's again time for another awesome sketch challenge by Lauren. Here is this week's awesome sketch. I wanted to use my cute dinosaurs by Queen Kat Designs so I pulled them out his week. I stamped them on pattern paper (Basic Grey Archaic). All my solids are by SU. The cute images seen in the little squares on bottom are from a sheet in the Basic Grey pack that I just cut out to find accordingly. I didn't have a sentiment for this so I printed it out on the computer and viola a sentiment all ready to go!

Be sure to swing by Lauren's Blog for her awesome creation and the rest of the Saturday Sketch Team blogs (all listed on my sidebar).

Taylor still has some BLOG CANDY going on through tonight at 9pm!!! RUN DON'T WALK to her blog because you won't want to miss out on this opportunity.

Have you heard Queen Kat is getting ready to celebrate a birthday on November 19, get ready for some fun. Keep your eyes peeled as I might start celebrating early...... :-)

That's all for now!! Happy Saturday!!!

A Princess and the Robot..... & Blog Candy

I have two things to share with you and both are based on SCS Sketch challenges.

The first one is for today's sketch challenge. A theme that has been going on this week aside from the "normal" challenges was to keep pink! So I kept this card all pink, different shades of course but all pink. And of course that is the favorite color of my own little princess. I colored the images with Copics and added stickles to them. The glitter papers on the layers are from DCWV stack packs.

My second card is also from an SCS sketch challenge but this one was from a few weeks ago. You can view the sketch HERE. Here is my take. I started with SU Close to Cocoa and Really Rust in my layers. The pattern papers are by Basic Grey. I paper pieced the robot, colored with Copics and cut him out.
And now onto some BLOG CANDY! Oh yeah. You are going to want to RUN over to Taylor's blog and check it out. The prize is a $25 shopping spree at Queen Kat Designs!
Well that's all for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Unity Challenge Wednesday

Calling all Unity addicts, it's Wednesday again (ok in 40 mins) and that means another awesome challenge coming your way. This week Lori picked our challenge and it was a "Recipe Challenge". That means she let's us know what we need to include on our card. The recipe is to use: something clear (like a button, acetate, ghost shape, even Crystal Effects), ribbon, and an image from our last Unity order. I think I covered all the elements. My clear piece are the dew drops on the right. I added brown ribbon by American Crafts and my cute house image is from the October Kit of the Month.

I combined this challenge with a second challenge (also Unity related). Amber posted a sketch challenge in the Unity Forum the other day so I decided to incorporate the sketch for this week's "addicts" challenge.

I used SU's Close to Cocoa as my base. The awesome glitter paper on my layers is by Best Creations and of course I added Orange stickles to the pumpkins. Be sure to check out all the awesome creations from the group of girls who participate each week in this challenge. Angela has them linked up on the Unity Blog (HOW COOL IS THAT?). I have to apologize I had them all linked up then I lost ALOT of my links when I was trying to fix something, so I'm still trying to get it back. Need more time! LOLOL!

Well that's all for now. Get ready because tomorrow is HIP HOP Thursday in the Unity Forum, be sure to stop by and check it out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Snowmen Choir

Check out this Snowmen Choir! This is an awesome set by Queen Kat Designs called Build a Snowman. I tried to make each of my snowmen different. This "tehcnique" is the Stair Step Fold which was the featured technique on SCS last week.

I used ballet Blue by SU and pattern papers by DCWV. The glitter snowflake is actually a Christmas ornament I had in my stash and the snowflake in the middle is an already made embellishment for scrapbooking (source unknown).

There is alot of posting going on in the Queen Kat Gallery as the DT is having a "posting" challenge. Check it out HERE for some awesome inspiration.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Monday Challenge - MDC Scrapbook Team

Each Monday the girls of the Mothers & Daughters Creations has a challenge. This week our challenge was to make an altered item with a Halloween theme. I decided to take a frame and alter it. Ok, this frame I actually picked up at the Target dollar spot, isn't that perfect? The photo I picked is from when my kiddies were 7 months and celebrating their first Halloween. Of course I didn't have a good picture of the two of them next to each other so I printed two photos and it worked really well.

I started by covering the frame in a plain black paper. The pattern papers I added are by My Little Yellow Bicycle. Check out that great pumpkin in the lower right, that's by Serendipity Stamps and to the leaves I added stickles.

Well that's all for now folks. Thanks for stopping by!

Fun with "Shorties?"

Ok we've all heard of inchies that little rage of stamping on 1x1 sized "cards". I have to tell you I have never gotten into that whole thing. But this weekend one of the girls in the Queen Kat Royal Court, Nikki, posed us this challenge.... Make a "shortie". Ha, what is a shortie you may ask it's working on a 1.5 x 1.75 inches.

Here is my trio of Snowman fun with shorties. I used the Queen Kat set called Build a Snowman. I started with my little square in white and I added some DCWV patterned paper to it. Then I added the images. On the little hat I used red flock to make it "fuzzy" I used stickles on the snowman.

This is a super simple neat idea. Then you can take these little buggers and add them to a full card! I'll have to do that next. Come play along...... there is a prize involved if you do. Check here for the details....

Sketch Challenges

Here is Lauren's Sketch challenge for this Saturday. Pretty basic and simple and you know how beautiful Lauren does simple. I decided that I wanted to use my Queen Kat Designs stamps for the sketch challenge so this is what I came up with, not so much simple and elegant as Lauren's card, but I thought it still worked ok.

Be sure to swing by the blogs of the other Saturday Sketch girls (links listed on my side bar) as I'm sure they will have some super fun creations to share.

This second creation was for this past week's sketch challenge at SCS. The images are also by Queen Kat Designs.

Mothers & Daughters Creations DT CALL

Calling all Scrapbookers! Come and submit your creations to the MDC scrapbook call. You have until Oct 31. Check this LINK for all the details!

Unity Challenge Wednesday

I can't believe it's been 8 weeks of the Unity Addicts Challenge! Time sure flies but it's been a blast. This week the challenge was inspired by the boys of Unity. Last week for the Hip Hop (if you have not checked this out yet you must) the boys made Unity cards and they were posted for all to see. Check them out HERE.... Not bad right? That's when the "addicts" (ha ha, can I call us that?) decided to have their "boys" make a card for a challenge. Pretty cool right? But we also kept our regularly scheduled program and just agreed to make it a masculine card. So today you will be able to view all the wonderful cards made by the men of the Unity crazed ladies as well as their own "masculine" themed card.

First off here is my masculine themed card using the Unity Kit called "A Dad of All Kinds".

I paper pieced the title and the chair for this. I think this came out somewhat simple I was not sure if I really cared for it. I do find it a challenge to make masculine cards for sure.

I had an issue with my blog and lost some links. I have to redo the links to the Unity challenge girls but Anglea of Unity was so kind as to have our links on her blog. Check it out here.

Now for the second challenge as for my man making a card. WELL.... that didn't go over with the DH. To be honest it's better he stays away from my stamping stuff anyhow! LOLOL! SOOOOO..... here is what I have for the "man" challenge for you....

This is my 2 year old "stamping". Both my cuties love to get into my stuff and "make a stamp" as they call it. TOO CUTE...

Yes this is a Unity Stamp from The Boo Crew and it's on a Unity Block. So I attempted the challenge with my main man in my life! Does that count toward the challenge?

Well that's all I have for now....

Thanks for stopping by.

MDC Scrapbook DT Challenge

Today is the first challenge for the Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Design Team. I am very excited to be a part of the charter team to get this started.

Our first challenge was to make a Halloween page based on a sketch. Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on this sketch:

I started with SU Eggplant Envy as my base. (This is an 8x8 scrapbook page.) The orange pattern paper is by Best Creation and the purple is by My Little Yellow Bicycle. I used my Fiskars pumpkin punch to punch out the embellishments. My half circles under the photo where cut using the scalloped circle nesties. To create the title I just typed it up on the computer and printed it on white cardstock.

Be sure to hop on over to the MDC Challenge blog to see what the other DT members came up with, I'm sure they will have some amazing Halloween pages!

I hope that you will like to play along with this great sketch challenge. MDC is offering wonderful prize this week. You can have the chance to win MDC's line of My Little Bicycle Papers and a stick pack. If you play along and post to SCS pls use keyword: MDCSB1 and link your creation back to the MDC Challenge Blog.

Would you like to be a part of the MDC team? A DT call is underway. Check THIS link for all the awesome details!

Well that's all for now!

Saturday means it's time for a sketch...

Yes every Saturday Miss Lauren has a wonderful sketch for us. This week though she has a HUGE announcement so there won't be a sketch. :-( What will her announcement be? I can't wait to hear about it. In the meantime Mackenzie one of the gals on Lauren's sketch team tossed out a great sketch to work with this week.

I decided to pull out these great "friendly" ghosts from Serendipity for this sketch. Yes I know I've been doing alot of Halloween cards but heck it's October and I have these awesome stamps so....

Here is my take on the sketch. I embossed the ghosts in black and cut them out. I created layers using these awesome pattern papers by My Little Yellow Bicycle and the purple background one with the bats is by Debbie Mumm.

Well that's all for now.

Challenge Thursday with MDC & News

It's Thursday and that means another fun challenge with Mothers & Daughters Creations. Linda is our hostess with the mostess this month and this week she picked a Halloween Treat Box for us to make.

I will admit I did not make this box. I have a bunch of wedding favor boxes on hand that work perfectly! I covered the box in basic black then added some fun Halloween pattern papers by My Little Yellow Bicycle. I stamped the spooky house image and colored with copics, then cut it out. I added Stickles to the door and windows (sorry the picture does not do that justice). Of course I had to add a Halloween goodie in the box so I put some candy corn.

ETA: If you play along this week with the MDC challenge you have a chance to win a super cool stamp set by Basic Grey. CHECK HERE!

Now for my super fun NEWS FLASH.... Have you heard? Mothers & Daughters Creations has started a Scrapbooking DT! OH YEAH, and I get to be a charter member! WOO HOO! Check out the announcement here! Would you like to be a part of the MDC Design team?? The call for the scrapbook team is coming next week, be sure to check out the first scrapbook challenge on Monday. I will definitely post my creation here and all the creations for the Design Team will be posted on the challenge blog.

I can't believe this is our 6th week of the Unity Challenges and it's still going strong. This week Jessica picked our challenge and it is to make a non standard card. Tall and skinny was one of her suggestions and I've seen these cards alot but have not tried them till now.
I colored the santa with copics and added stickles to his gloves and hat. I used SU white flock for this beard. I heat embossed the sentiment using Ranger embossing powder in Cranberry.

That's it for now. We would love for you to play along with the challenges just hop on over to the SCS Unity Forum and check it out. I also have a link to the gals who always play along every week on my side bar. Go check out their awesome creations and leave them some love.

World Card Making Challenges

This past Saturday was World Card Making Day! It came on a very busy weekend for me so I was not able to particpate in as many of the awesome challenges as I would have liked to. But I did manage two cards I'd like to share with you.

This first one was to case one of Sherry's awesome creations. I picked her card here using the awesome Unity Kit Giggle Groove. I changed the colors and the sentiment. The paper I used is by SU and Basic Grey.

This second card is for AJ's Sketch Challenge. I used SU Regal Rose and some glitter paper from a DCWV stack pack. This butterfly is from the Unity Kit Floral Fantastical. I added stickles to the middle of the butterfly.

Be sure to keep you ears and eyes open for the next DT call at Mothers & Daughters Creations.

That's it for now...
