Stamping WIth The Oldies

There is a new blog in town called "Stamping With The Oldies"!  That's right a few of us crafters got together and created this fun new blog.  NO it's not stamping with old folks because guess what we are not old! LOL!  It's all about using all that stuff that you has been in your stash for a long time!  So pull out something you have not used in over a year and use it again, make it hip again!

Today is my turn over on the blog and we are using our VERY first (or close to it at least) stamp set!  I know for a fact that Stampin Up Button Bear was my very first set ever!  I remember being invited to an SU home party thinking what the heck is this going to be.  VERY skeptical from the get go I went with a few other friends.  And guess what?  I am the only STILL stamping after all these years, 10 years to be exact!

So do you remember this set from SU:

My card came out pretty simple but here it is:

I also wanted to incorporate some old paper I found in my stash as well.  I THINK it's from Daisy Bucket but not 100% sure.  It was a full sheet so obviously I hadn't used it.

Just Us Girls Inspiration

Today is inspiration day over at JUST US GIRLS.  Check out this beautiful butterfly photo!  Takes your breathe away.

Here is what I came up with using the colors and of course the butterfly:

Here is what I came up with using some school themed papers by Recollections and a sentiment from the kit called The Best.

The red lace is from Creating is Fun.  And I added bakers twine to the large buttons from The Twinery.

Just Us Girls Challenge

Here is what I did with these colors: 

I used {ippity} sets and paper by DCWV on this card.  The {ippity} sets I used are called Dream to BE and Bloom & Simplify.    I have been loving distressing the sides of my cards lately for some reason! LOL!  My brown is added as an accent around the edges.

Sweet and Sassy Stamps Christmas Blog Hop

Isn't cocoa adorable peeking out from that stocking?  I paper pieced the Christmas stocking using some Christmas paper from a stack by DCWV from last year.

Here is a new stamp from Queen Kat Designs called Rudy & Judy.

I used Stampin Up card stock along with pattern pattern from Christy Tomlinson.  I used the swiss dots embossing folder for my background. With these great detailed images from Queen Kat I love to keep the cards somewhat simple.

Out in Space

Yesterday I shared a layout my 6 year old son made using my new stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop called Out in Space.  Today I'm here to share a card I made using this super fun set.

My card stock is Stampin Up and the pattern papers are DCWV.  I added stickles to the rocket ship and paper pieced the alien just because :-)

I have a few other new Sweet Stamp Shop sets so I will be sharing more sweetness soon.

Scrapping with the Sweet Stamp Shop

I just got the "Out in Space" set from Sweet Stamp Shop and had to ink it right away.  While I was my son came in and loved the space images!  SO he made his first scrapbook page using this set.  He used pictures of his favorite ride from an amusment park which happens to be a spaceship type ride.

On the bottom he wrote "said the alien" which is supposed to be the follow up to the stamped image "Fly me to the Moon" :-)

Anyhow, I had to share because it was too cute.

Here is the card I made using papers by DCWV and their summer stack called Summer Days.

I turned him into a hamburger grilling chef!  I cut a hamburger from the Summer Days stack and added it to his hand instead.

Sweet n' Sassy July Challenge

Today is release day over at Sweet n' Sassy Stamps!  Great new sets offered, be sure to go check them out!

They are also having a day of challenges over in their SCS forum HERE!  The first challenge is to make a one layer card.  When I hear that I automatically think literally one layer just ONE piece of card stock without any layers on top!  This is definitely a challenge for me since I love layers.  SO I pulled out some inks and came up with this:

In the end I didn't like the blank space on the left but didn't want to redo SO I just went with it.  But overall I like how this came out.  I used the set from Sweet n' Sassy called Beach Bum Cocoa.  I used Memento Desert Sand ink and the Distress inks Squeezed Lemonade (spring series) and Salty Ocean (summer series).  I wanted something around the edges so I just doodled an edge for fun.

Little Cocoa has pink glittery hears and I used some distress stickler for the sand:

Beach Bum

HAPPY 4th OF JULY to all my US friends!  

This week I played along with the sketch challenge from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps challenge blog - The Sweet Stop.    I didn't go with a 4th of July theme for my card but did go with a summer theme.  I used the beach bucket image with Cocoa from the Beach Bum set.  Along with that great image I paired it with some new DCWV papers called A Type of Art.

I paper pieced the bucket and added glitter to his ears, isn't he the cutest?  I've been having fun with the Sweet n' Sassy images lately!  Get ready because in just a few weeks July 19th they are having a fun Christmas in July blog hop and friends are invited to link up!
