Serendipity Stamps Gallery

Woo hoo, I made it into the gallery at Serendipity Stamps! Here are my snowmen and my vase. What fun! Here's hoping for the possiblity of a DT call? Hum... fingers crossed!

Anyhow, I finally used my Serendipity Flower stamp last night. I colored it in with Marvy Brush markers, have to say I love them. Need more! :-) I used Ranger stickles for the yellow glitter in the middle. The patterend paper is from a stack pack I purchased at Joannes, then I just added the white ribbon and black buttons. The layout was no particular sketch but I like what I came up with.

Here's a challenge for you - use my layout for a cool creation. Would love to see them! I'm also of thinking of posting a weekly challenge. OK, maybe not a hard challenge but something even if it's simple to stimulate creativity. Let me know what you think.

Lizzie Anne's Weekly Challenge

Here is my card from week 2 of LAD's weekly challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. Gotta love these great sets. The best part is that they are not mounted on wood and they come in their own little Jewel (CD) cases! Perfect for storage! This week Craft Critique did an awesome write up about the company, check it out.

I have to say I love these weekly challenges. I used two stamps from two sets for this challenge: Funky Floral and Blissful Blossoms! Yes I do like the floral sets.

Saturday Sketch Time

This week Lauren had a great sketch to play with! This card opens up vertically and the cool black band on the bottom has a magnet under the flower to keep the card closed! The shimmery gold paper I picked up at a local paper warehouse, I thought it was very cool. The flower is punched out with the Stampin Up scallop punch. The stamp is one that I purchased at my local stamp store by Impress Rubber Stamps.

Thanks Lauren for the wonderful weekly inspriation!

Spooky Halloween

I am back with my Halloween stamps! I purchased this cool velevty ribbon from my local scrapbook store and figured I should play with it before Halloween is over! I can't believe it's almost Halloween, where does the time go? My little guys are going to be a Princess and Spiderman, too cute!

Snowman and Snowflakes

Still playing with my Serendipity Stamps Snowman! Love it! Here i used Marvy brush markers and SU Markers to color in Frosty. OK, yes let's name him Frosty! :-) I used (my favorite of course) Stickles glitter glue by Ranger. The cool snowflake ribbon is from Walmart and the background snowflake paper I picked up at my local stamp store by Heidi Grace Designs. The sliver outline is using the metallic collection from EK Success. I know it's hard to tell in the picture but I used a pop dot on the back of the snowman to make him stand out a bit.

There you have it, another Frosty!

Serendipity Snowman

I finally had a chance to use my Serendipity stamp "Snowman with Birdhouse". I started witht he scrapped oil pastel technque I picked up from the Technique Junkie Newsletter! That does not show that much because I decided to use other stuff over it :-) The "Tis the Season" sentiment was a freebie from the Serendipity grab bag! I added glitz using the Ranger Stickles glitter glue!

Lizzie Anne Designs Contest

I mailed my submission for the Lizzie Anne Designs contest. This is for a great cause all cards will be given to Cards for Cancer. Hopefully my submission will arrive in time for the contest deadline, otherwise I'm sure the cards will still get donated. Either way it's all good! I used the Funky Floral set! The crinkle silver is actually tissue paper which I thought looke pretty cool. I love the silver and blue!

I also sent in this card I made for the weekly sketch. It's a great contest!

Lizzie anne Designs Sketch Challenge

Weekly on Splitcoast Stampers Lizzie anne Designs offers a sketch challenge. I love the sketch challenges! I used my Funky Floral set for this cool challenge. This is a great floral set, I've always been a fan of the flower sets for some reason. I do think I will have to check out their other sets. I was pretty psyched to see these sets at my local stamp store! I may be back for more. Thanks to Lizzie anne for posting this challenge.

Lauren's Sketch Challenge

Here is what I came up with from Lauren's Sketch Challenge. I know I tweeked it a bit for me, I just wasn't coming up with a good idea for the extra circle up top like in her sketch. However, I think this design came out nice. The stamp is "pottery" by Serendipity Stamps. I do not know who the background stamp is though. I purchased this unmounted very cool stamp a few years ago at a convention. Back then I didn't think about remembering all the company names now I wish I had. If anyone knows pls let me know.

Thursday Throwdown...

Yes I know it's Sunday, not Thursday but I finally had a chance to work on Colleen's challenge. This week it was to use 3 colors: blue, purple and green. Hum..... :-) Here is what I came up with using my Halloween stamp from Studio G.

Exciting News...

I'm so excited! I checked my email yesterday and I had a mail from Starving Artistamps regarding the Design Team. OK, I'll admit I thought I was not going to have a shot, but I was invited to join as a guest designer!! Out of the 200 applicants, I was one of the 20 chosen. As a guest designer I will be called upon on a rotating basis with the other guest designers. Very cool, huh? They have great images to work with so I'm excited! I will definitely be posting my creations!!!

Stamping with Serendipity

Last night I started stamping with my new Serendipity Stamps. This stamp is called "Pottery". I don't know what it was but something about it I loved! Then when I mounted the stamp and stamped it in black on paper I was like WOW!

So here is my first creation using this cool stamp. I have others that i will hopefully have time to play with later.

Also the owner liked another creation I made using Snow Pets and asked if she can post it to her website! Woo hoo. That was pretty exciting. I don't think it is posted yet but I'll let you know when.

Serendipity Stamps

I am so psyched. I received my new stamps from Serendipity Stamps today. Yes I've said it before but I love their images. The owner is also such a nice person which is also such a plus. Now off I go to cut and mount my new stamps and get ready to stamp.

To Be Continued.... :-)

Lauren's Weekly Sketch

I know that Lauren posts her weekly sketches on Saturdays but things have been hectic. This week she also posted 2 sketches but for the moment I have one card created.

The image is from MissyB Designs and is called Alexa's Set.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have some stamping time and maybe (fingers crossed) my new Serendipity Stamps will be here!

Challenges, Challenges - Ornaments

There is a weekly bloggers challenge, where very talented ladies take a stamping challenge and run with it. I love browsing their blogs to see what the challenge is and their creations. This week I thought I'd play along to see if I can take on the challenge. Their challenge this week was to create an ornament. What fun! Recently I posted an ornament I made while playing with circles and my Penguin stamp. After seeing this challenge I decided to use my Snow Pets to create another ornament.

Here are my results. All images are Serendipity Stamps. I used Stampin Up watercolor pencils to color in the images. Added some dazzling diamonds and crystal effects. The snow on the Snow Pets ornament (the cube one) was created using Stampin Up's white flock. I haven't used that much, I don't even know if they still have it, but it worked great for the snow!

BOO - It's Halloween Time

This card I made for this week's Split Coast Stampers weekly sketch challenge. (Click here to view this week's sketch.) I was always a SCS "stalker" I would love to go see other peoples galleries for inspiration. Now I jumped in both feet and love it. I have my own gallery there now as well. (Click here to visit)

I love these stamping challenges, it's a great way to jump start motivation and creativity. Not that we need reasons to stamp but they do just that. "OH wait it's Wed, SCS Sketch challenge day gotta get to work" :-) Lauren M does a weekly Sketch challenge as well on Saturdays, that keeps me busy on the weekends :-)

That's all for now.

Snow Pets

This card was created using the Snow Pets stamp from Serendipity Stamps. I used Stampin Up water color pencils to color in the pets and dazzling diamonds along the edge of the image. The background paper is from Basic Grey.

It's never too early to get ready for Christmas! But I did get another Halloween stamp today so I will have to play with that one also.

More Serendipity Stamps

Here is a ceramic tile I did using the Quilted Pumpkin from Serendipity Stamps. I colored in with chalks and used a crystal laquer to highlight the leaves which make it shiny. I thought it gave them some dimension.

This second project was using Serendipity Penguin stamp. I decided to start with circles, then after playing around I ended up with this which is like a Christmas Ornament. Never too early to start thinking about Christmas ornaments right? I used SU Dazzling diamond glitter around the edges and some glitter glue on the iceberg and snowflake.

Saturday Sketch Challenge

Here is the card I did for Lauren M's Saturday sketch challenge. I love these penguins from Serendiptiy Stamps! I can't stop using them. The patterned background paper is from Basic Grey. I used glitter glue on the iceberg. Somtimes pictures just don't do a piece justice or maybe it's because I need a new camera :-)

Baby Shower

Yesterday I went to my friend's baby shower! What a blast! I made her this card for the shower. She does not know what she is having so I used the yellows to keep it neutral. The stamp I got at Michael's in their dollar stamp bin. Isn't it the cutest?

Markers, Markers, Markers...

What are your favorite markers? I'm looking to get some new ones, perhaps a small set. There are so many out there and I'm looking for some suggestions. I know some are super expensive but not others.

What do you love to use? Please leave me your suggestions in my comments.

Thursday Throwdown (a day late)

Ok so I could not go to sleep until I created a card for the Thursday Throwdown at Distinctive Touches. This week it was to create a card but get this, not using Stamps! LOLOL. It almost pained me to not use any stamps! In the end this was a quick card but I think it turned out rather cool. I used pattern papers, buttons and stickers.

Now I can sleep soundly :-)

Serendipity Stamps

My new favorite stamps from Serendipity Stamps!! These little penquins have to be the cutest! I am having alot of fun playing around with these little guys on their ice block, while it is 80 degrees here! Yes I am hung up on the hot weather, I HATE IT. Back to my little penguins....

In the first one I used Baby Blue Stickles from Ranger, this is awesome glitter glue. I put the glitter on the iceberg and dabs of it on the snowflakes. With the background I used a very simple (but effective) direct to paper technique. Sometimes it's the simple things that work the best. The image of the penguins is also mounted using large pop dots to make it a little dimensional.

The second card I used a bit of the glitter on the snowflakes and used some water coloring for the iceberg. I know this is hard to see in a photo but I used Stampin Up white flock for the bodies of the penguins. I used the scrapped oil pastels technique I picked up from the Technique Junkie Newsletter, again a very simple but highly effective technique.

Finally, I made this last one using glossy card stock. This background is an old one that comes up again and again, I've seen it in many different places so I won't give it a name. Using versamark ink I stamped on the glossy paper. Using a rubber brayer you just roll the ink over and wipe all the excess.

Quilted Pumpkin

Recently I received my order from Serendipity Stamps! LOVE THEM! This was one stamp I ordered called Quilted Pumpkin. It's such a great fall stamp. Of course pictures don't always do justice to stamped work but this one looks great in person. I used a pop dot to raise the pumpkin.

So when is FALL starting anyhow! It's Oct 4 and 80 degrees!!! That's just wrong! :-)

Unity Stamp Co Tuesday Inspiration!

I'm up on the UNITY BLOG today sharing some cards I made using 2 stamp sets! I used the February background of the month called   as...
