SCS COLOR WASH CHALLENGE

This week's SCS Technique challenge was to use a color wash over your embossed image - "Batik-The Colorwash Way ". I used Ranger color washes (Lettuce and Stream) for this one. Due to my lack of time I used them straight from their bottle which gave me a very vibrant look. At first I was very unsure if I liked what I did but in the end it came together nicely in my background. The SCS instructions called for using clear embossing powder but I used white instead. Breaking the rule, breaking the rules! LOLOL!
Here is my version using a butterfly from Unity's Beautiful Butterfly and the images on my "Batik" piece are from Unity's Oh Happy Day. My background colors are by Stampin Up: Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery and the Swiss Dots embossing folder for the background.

SCS Sketch Challenge - AGAIN

I know I used this sketch alot this week but I really love it! The other night Treehouse Stamps had a release party in their yahoo forum and it was fun chatting with the girls. I used this sketch for the challenge that night.

I used pattern papers from a 7 Gypsies pack. I colored the butterflies with a prisma color marker and added Burgundy Stickles.

This is a quick one today. Off I go to work on challenges while the kids sleep.

Saturday Sketch Time

Once again it's Saturday and that means Lauren's awesome sketch! Here is the sketch this week. Lots of fun circles. I decided to use my witch from the Unity Kit Oh Spooky Day. Here is my version of Lauren's sketch. I colored the witch with copics and cut her out with my nesties and used the SU scallop punch for the back. I added stickles for the glitter. My background paper is by K & Company. Check out the cool black circles and how shiny bumpy they look. Unfortunately I'm not sure who it is by but I did pick it up as a sheet at AC Moore. My ribbon up top is by American Crafts.

I hope you will try Lauren's sketch, let us know if you do. Also be sure to swing by the blogs of the other girls on Lauren's sketch team.

MDC Sketch Challenge

It's Thursday again and time for another Mothers & Daughters Creations challenge. This week I decided to take the lovely sketch by Jennifer and make a christmas card.
My solid papers are SU (River Rock and Barquoe Burgandy) and everything else is by Imagainisce. The tree is a clear stamp which I heat embossed in a garnet color and colored in with Copics and added Stickles. The santa and stocking I actually punched out from THIS pattern paper, how cool is that.

This was fun to make i hope that you enjoy it. Be sure to check out what the rest of the awesome design team cooked up for this challenge.

Unity Wednesday Challenge

Today is Wednesday and time for our weekly Unity Challenge. This week's challenge is paper piecing, not to be confused with piercing! Because I am a KOO KOO, I did totally confuse that, maybe I was reading too fast I don't know. I'd like to chalk it up as being KOO KOO! Anyhoo.. I did paper PIECE the little Angel's skirt and also added (but to the back) pattern paper to this awesome frame. I HAD to toss in some paper piercing just because and did so in the pattern paper in the frame. These images are from the September Unity Kit of the Month.

Check out the Unity forum for all the details on the challenge. And if you have a chance take a little blog hop to the other gals who participate each week (list posted on my side bar).

Happy Seal

This great image is by Serendipity Stamps. I love this happy seal. When I saw him I thought immediately he would look cool on acetate.

I stamped him using stazon on an acetate sheet. I "colored" him in using Stickles. I love love how the glitter looks on acetate. I created a square card out of Bliss Blue (SU) paper and layered it with pattern paper from a DCWV stack pack. I cut my circle using a nestie. I adhered the acetate in between the bliss blue base and the pattern paper. on the inside I added another cool pattern paper. The snowflake in the lower right is a small glitter Christmas ornament which is really white. I added Martha Stewart glitter glue all over it and Sprinkled on some blue glitter by Martha Stewart and added bling to the middle.

That's it for now.

Serendipity Snowman

Recently I got a few new stamps from Serendipity. Their new fall/winter line is amazing!

I love snowmen for the holidays and this guys is perfect. I colored him with copics and added stickles for shine. Cut him out with plain and scallop nesties. It's pretty simple card but I thought the snowman is lovely and just carries it on his own.

Stay tuned because I will have more projects to share using these awesome images.

In other news, Starving Artistamps is hosting an awesome challenge. Check out all the details here.

Well short and sweet today.

It's Saturday again and that means another great sketch from Lauren. Here is the awesome sketch. Here is my take on her sketch.
I just received the Unity Kit of the Month yesterday and I had to incorporate it some how in my design. I used these cute little trees. I started with SU Really Rust. Then I pulled the glitter pattern paper from a DCWV stack pack. I created the scallop with a Fiskar scallop punch and cut out the circles with nesties.
This is a quick one, have lots to do this morning. But be sure to stop by the other girls on Lauren's sketch team to see how they interpreted this awesome sketch.

Riley Hanging in the Leaves

Ahhh, the fall! Gotta love it. The cool brisk air, falling leaves pumpkin spice and pumpkin pie! Alrighty it's mid 70s here and muggy but we will get fall soon! This past week's Hanna Sketch challenge was perfect for a Riley. Here was the sketch from the Hanna stamps SCS forum:
Here is my take on this awesome Sketch. I used Pumpkin Patch Riley. I colored him in using Prismacolor/Copic markers and added stickles. I embossed the background with the branches cuttlebug folder and used my nesties to punch out some ovals. I used the Fiskars Pumpkin punch for the pumpkin in the lower right and I ran it through the CB. My pattern paper is from a Debbe Mumm stack pack.

Sketch Time!!

It's Saturday again and that means sketch time with Lauren! WOO HOO! LOL! Here is this week's awesome sketch as if you would expect anything less from Miss Lauren:

I decided to use my Unity Stamps, shocker I know! :) I picked a kit I had not inked up yet "A Dad of All Kinds". Here is my take on this week's sketch:

I colored with copics added Stickles and used my Cuttlebug for the background. I had to color in the beer green for Heineken since that is my DH favorite. This came out rather simple but I liked how it turned out in the end.

Come play along with us. If you play along and post to SCS pls use mytimeness05 as your keyword.

HIP HOP!

Yesterday was HIP HOP Thursday in the Unity Forum! It was a blast, that I hardly had time to stamp! One of the challenges tossed out yesterday was to make a red, white and blue card in honor of 9-11. Definitely a fantastic challenge. I was just able to complete mine today. I decided to pull out the Recipe Assembly kit and used the pie from it. OK, so they say Apple Pie is all American this one is Cherry, whatever! Pie is pie, and this one was perfect since Cherries are red!

I used a pretty simple layout didn't follow any specific sketch challenge or anything. This is just what came together. I used lots of glitter! I used Christmas Red Stickles for the pie and blue glitter paper by DCWV. The ribbon I had on hand from Michael's, gotta love the dollar stuff there. And the background is the Distressed Dots stamp of course by Unity!

Well that's it for now!

Mr. Bones

Introducing Mr. Bones! LOL! Have you seen the new fall/winter images at Serendipity Stamps? They are pretty cool.

This one is Mr. Bones. Isn't he great? LOLOL! It cracks me up. Are you ready for Halloween yet? I can't believe it's time to think about that! It's crazy! What do I dress 2 two year olds (boy/girl) as for Halloween?

For this one I embossed Mr. Bones in black and colored his shirt and pumpkin with copics. I then added lots of stickles! My pattern papers are from a DCWV glitter fall stack pack. All the layers are on pop dots for dimension. I really go through those suckers fast! I actually found them at Office Max for .99 so I got all that they had there! LOL! Ok they only had 6 on the shelf, maybe I should go back to see if they restocked! LOLOL!

Well that's it for now. I will have more Serendipity creations soon!

Challenge Cards

Here are a couple of challenge cards I worked on this weekend.

This one is for the Hanna Stamps challenge to use flowers. I colored Hanna using copics and addes some stickles to her bow, waistline and cuffs. My paper is by SU (Regal Rose and Certaintly Celeary) and the striped paper from a DCWV glitter stack pack. These great flowers I had on hand and I believe I picked them up at Michael's at some point.

This second card is for the bling challenge at Limelight Papercrafts. Did you know that Mandy carries Unity Stamps. I thought that was pretty awesome so I used my Unity Cupcakes for this challenge. Lots of stickles adorn the cupcakes for all the yumminess.

Well that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Lauren's Weekly Sketch - TAKE 2

Here is Lauren's Sketch this week. When I first looked at it I just assumed it was the white section not the black. Yes I know what they say about assuming! LOLOL!!! So my previous post is what I came up with using that sketch. Ok, hey I change things up make sure everyone is paying attention. Maybe I should not have said anything and see who noticed! LOL!

Since I annoyed myself with that craziness, I decided to play again! Here is my next version of this week's sketch.

I used Unity's Kit called Bitty Christmas Tags for this one. Hey they are starting to put Christmas things out in the stores so why not jump on the bandwagon. My pattern paper is by Debbie Mumm and I used SU Vanilla as the base. The CB folder that I used is from last year but I love these snowflakes. The left side panel and image are on pop dots.

So remember if you play along and upload to SCS use keyword mytimeness04 and be sure to stop by the blogs of the other girls (see my sidebar) as I'm sure they are not koo koo.

So there you have it! LOL! I have more things to share with you late tonight or tomorrow. Limelight Papercrafts is having a little contest so I made something for that. Did you know that they carry Unity Stamps! And Serendipity has their new fall/winter line out now you can bet there are some awesome images there.

Stay Tuned.....

Lauren's Weekly Sketch Challenge

Here is what I started and finished with Lauren's weekly sketch. It was after I finished I thought about the sketch and thought I think I totally interpreted it wrong! HUM....

Here is the sketch:
So I was working on this late last night and got my post ready but then started thinking about the sketch. I interpreted it as the white section being the card for some reason and the black just being a background not part of the card. Yeah I'm koo koo! LOLOL!!!
So anyhow here is my Riley. I will try and play again later though! At least this Riley card fits well with the Hanna "fall" challenge going on.
I used SU and Debbie Mumm papers. My ribbon is from Joannes and I used the Fiskars Pumpkin punch for my pumpkin cutouts.
Be sure to check out the other sketch girls I'm sure they are not koo koo!
Thanks!
