Happy New Years Eve: Treehouse Challenge Thursday

Welcome to another edition of Treehouse Challenge Thursday. This week the challenge is Paper Piercing. I picked the cute Snag 'em stamp Cocoa Mug. I pierced the "steam" coming out of the cup and pierced some holes in the corner. Here is what I came up with:

When you upload your card to SCS, PCP, and your blog make sure and use the keyword THT030. We hope you can come play along with us this week. You can link your creations via Mr. Linky on the Treehouse Blog. Would you like a button to show that you follow the Treehouse Thursday Challenge? Click HERE. .

Hero Arts 2010 New Release

I picked up two new Hero Arts sets this week from my local stamp store. Have you seen their new release, awesome stuff.

On their blog they have weekly challenges and the last challenge was called the Cards that Give challenge. It was to "create a new card or tag that incorporates/holds a gift".

Here is what I came up with using a flower from their new set called Exotic Decor:

Close up view:

Inside view:

My template for this card was an old birthday invitation I received and loved the cool design. I used American Crafts Ribbon as the holder for the gift card. The little metal embellishment says "wish", sorry it does not clearly show up in the photo.

Well that's it for now!

Stamp TV Black and White Challenge

Last week's Stamp TV's color challenge was to use black and white. Gotta love the combo, so elegant and simple.

Here is what I came up with:

I used Gina's set "Take Flight". Love love those butterflies! I stamped the butterfly once on white card stock and then again. I cut the second one out and adhered it to the top so the butterfly is "fluttering" and is popped out. My pattern paper is by DCWV.

That's it for now!

You will want to check out the templates she has to offer, super fabulous stuff! I used an awesome template and went pretty simple with it. I used the Treat Bag: Scalloped template for my creation.

Here is what I came up with:

I made my pretty simple using Stampin Up cardstock and pattern papers. I decided to leave my treat box handle free. Inside I put a magnet I made using matching SU paper. Here is another view of the box and magnet.

Gina K Sketch Challenge

Are you ready for Christmas? I think I am, just have to finish wrapping some gifts!

Here is what I did for this week's sketch challenge at Stamp TV. The sketch can be found HERE. I took the sketch and made an 8x8 page.

I used the stamp from Melanie's Hip to be Square set and added photos of my kids in there, along with the snowman from Carolyn King's Warm Winter Wishes set. Then I stamped the box on a piece of transparency, cut it out and placed it over the pictures to make a window look.

Here is a close up:

I added Stickles to the corners for the effect of some ice. My background paper is by Best Creations and worked perfectly for my little scene.

Jugs Saturday Challenge

Isn't this beautiful? Our very own Kristin puts our images together each week and does a stellar job!! This week we have a fun color challenge: Raspberry, Green, Kraft, and Red. That combo looks fabulous in our challenge image so that's some awesome inspiration to get you started.

For mine I used the penguin stamp from the Treehouse Stamps set "Cool Wishes". Here is what I came up with:

My pattern paper is from a DCWV stack pack and I used the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder for the base.

Be sure to swing by the JUGS blog and play along with us this week, can't wait to see what you come up with.

Treehouse Challenge Thursday

It's Thursday and another edition of the Treehouse Thursday Challenge! This week we have a fun color challenge: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink.

I decided to make a Christmas ornament for this challenge. I used the awesome poinsettia flower from the Christmas Favorites set.

Here is what I came up with:

This started as a paper mache round ornament I picked up at Michaels. I painted it a white base with plain acrylic paint. Then used a light pink (my "pretty in pink") acrylic paint and painted the sides in a brown. I stamped the sentiment in black on ivory paper and mounted it on a chocolate brown and added brown glitter brads.

Closeup:

The cool "cracking" on the base was achieved by using Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint. I used Rock Candy for mine. This one is crystal clear and gives you this fun cracked look!

Be sure to swing the Treehouse Blog and DT members to see what they cooked up for this fun challenge.

Blue Poinsettias

I played along with Gina K's Sketch challenge this week over at Stamp TV. I decided to use the poinsettia from Melanie's A Year of Flowers Set. I love that set and the flower!

Here is what I came up with. I decided to go blue, for something a little different. Who says they have to be red right?
My solid blue is Night of Navy by Stampin Up and the pattern papers are from a DCWV stack pack. I stamped the poinsettias with Memento Black and colored with Copic Markers. The cool clear button has a neat pattern paper underneath it but it was not coming through great in the photo.
That's it for now.

Treehouse Stamps Challenge Thursday

This week the Treehouse gang's Thursday Challenge is to make a tag. Now you have to know that this comes at a fantastic time with Tim Holtz's 12 days of tags in progress! Gotta love what he comes up with each day. This year I'm trying to actually play all 12 we'll see. For this challenge I did take a technqiue from Tim.

Here is what I came up with:

This came out pretty simple. I was going to carry on and add more embellishments etc but then just thought leave it be. This is from the THS set called Wise Men Still Seek Him. I gold embossed the stars from the set on the right side.

I have some fun goodies on their way to me so maybe tonight I can make another tag for this challenge! Did you see my news yesterday?? I made the 2010 Treehouse Stamps Design Team! I was so excited to hear from Neva the DT coordinator. Should be fun!

Be sure to swing by the Treehouse store for some AMAZING deals you don't want to miss!

This week we have a great sketch from Pam for the 10th edition of Jugs challenges!

Treehouse Stamps Challenge Thursday

This week the Treehouse Stamps challenge is to Case Cathleen Torina's gallery. She has an amazing gallery and out of all the beauties this is the one I picked to case: Ho, Ho, Ho.

I really like the layout on this card so for mine I decided to use the layout as my sketch, took the red color and the holiday theme. OK, so I'm not 100% sure of the "official" casing rules so I hope I didn't break any.

Here is what I came up with:

This adorable bear is a Snag 'em stamp by Imaginisce and can be found in the Treehouse Shop. I colored him with Copics. I used my scallop nesties and a star punch for the shapes. My background is the lovely snowflake embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. I don't know who my pattern paper is by sorry.

Well that's it for now!

This week at Stamp TV the Gina K Color Challenge is to use Red, Green and Gold. Pretty basic fun holiday colors!

I used the sets Festive Frame, and a year of flowers. The poinsettas in the middle are the ones from Melanie's set A Year of Flowers. I love how this turned out I'm thinking I should frame this one!

Here is a close up of the flowers:

That's all I have for now!

This week Clear & Simple Stamps is sponsoring Card Positioning Systems. Check out this week's fun sketch:

I pulled out of my current favorite CSS sets called Winter! I love snowmen!

Here is what I came up with:

I used the images to create my own pattern paper and with this set it is so much fun! I'm sure you will see me do this again with this set. What is great about this set is it's perfect for Christmas but you can take this right into Feburary because it's just a general winter theme! I'm thinking Valentine Snowmen next.... :-)
