My Top Ten Cards of 2010 - Blog Hop

I found out about this fun blog hop today via Taylor Ursy and thought it would be fun to play along. So I went through my cards for 2010 and picked 10 of my favorites. All the photos have clickable links to the original post, except for one which is noted.

Not yet Posted :-)

Well I think that covers it. That is hard to do, I'm sure I missed some cards that I would have posted also.

Maybe another post this week will be some of my favorite projects from this year!

I made this luminary for this week's Unity Addicts Challenge which is an inspiration challenge This is the inspiration picture:

For my project I went with the circle shape, colors and the penguin:

Basically it's a little box. We made them at an SU gathering and it's from a Sizzix die. I don't have it (although I'm getting the Big Shot real soon :) ) so I opened up on the one we made at the SU event and used it as a template to make this one. I stamped on vellum for the window. I used the following kits: Folk Inspired and Jolly Little Winter.

This is taken with light and flash but inside there is a little battery tealight so in the dark this is what it looks like:

Just Us Girls Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday and another fun challenge with Just Us Girls! Our technique this week is called Sparkly Stained Glass!
Here is what I came up with using a Unity Stamp and I went with the Tim Holtz inspired tag. This is not one of his 12 tags of Christmas but his tags inspired my tag for this challenge! :-) I distressed the tag using distress inks and then stamped the music image (Ippity Stamps) in black. The green circle that the birdie is on is actually a piece of chipboard which I colored using distress inks. My sentiment "JOY" is chipboard which I again colored using distress inks and then I added crystal effects (crystal lacquer) to it which gives it the shine!

Here are two pages from my December Daily project. This is based on Ali Edwards idea to chronicle Dec 1 - 25 each year. I took the idea and went in a slightly different direction with it. I made my the seasons of blessing. You can see the cover to my book in this post HERE!

Basically I'm going with simple scrapbook pages of pictures from the season. Here the first one was from the Thanksgiving Day parade and the second one is our family picture from Thanksgivng:

So right now my backs are blank but I need to go back and add some journaling and maybe a bit more decoration.

Fun with Echo Park

Have you seen Echo Park yet?? It's a fabulous new paper company launched earlier this year. The patterns of their collections are so amazing! I have a bunch of pages that I picked up at a scrapbook store but I need to get my hands on entire collections. It's on my wish list maybe Santa will bring me some! LOL!

I'm psyched to post these creations with you today, as I had a blast making them. EP is also currently holding a little "contest" where they will pick a few people to feature next week, how cool is that? Totally worth trying for!

First up I made an 8x8 layout using some paper from the "Walk in the Park" collection.

Check out that great flower! This is inspired from Tim Holtz's rosette flowers. I don't have the die but was able to make it myself with some EP paper and a scoreboard! I added a glitter brad to the inside. On my background I used some stamps from Unity Stamp Co. Did you know that Unity has teamed up with Echo Park and created some stamps to make EP's Little Boy Collection. I have a feeling we will be seeing more with that partnership!

Here is a close up of that flower:

I also have a second project using Echo Park papers to share with you today. I LOVE how this one turned out. You may know that Tim Holtz has started his 12 days of tags which I love to follow. So with that I was inspired to make a tag using my EP papers and yet another rosette.

Here I used the Life is Good and the Walk in the Park collections. Check out my title.... THAT is the little title, heading on the bottom of the 12 x 12 paper! You know from the strip you cut off to use the paper which shows you who the paper is made by. Isn't that the coolest? It made the perfect little title for my tag!

I used some fun fancy fibers for the top and grosgrain ribbon on the bottom. The button is from a fun collection I picked up at Michael's in the Christmas section.

Here is a close up of that awesome rosette:

So much fun! I love that I figured out how to easily make these rosettes!

That's it for now!
