Hanna Stamps Color Challenge

OK here she is Passport Hanna is my submission for the Hanna Stamps color challenge. Hanna Stamps is having their May release party on Thursday night. As always there are challenges and this was a color challenge. Check out this thread for the details. The colors to be used are: Pretty In Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Rose Red. I will admit I did not have Tempting Turquoise so I had to substitute the best I could. The base of the card is Rose Red and my Pretty in Pink is in the layers with Hanna and the awesome Basic Grey patterned paper from Mothers and Daughters Creations. I had to use some cuttlebugging (can I use that as a word?) in here so I used the awesome floral one and the swiss dots one. I colored Hanna in using Prismacolor markers.

Lauren's Sketch Challenge

Hey I'm catching up with some challenges how awesome is that? This sketch is for Lauren's sketch challenge for this past week. She had two challenges one was using the squares and another one using circles. I don't know why but I don't love using circles yet. So I picked the squares and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Check out the awesome patterned paper I used for the squares! It's by Daisy Bucket and is called Under the Boardwalk and can be found here at Mothers & Daughters Creations. The base of this card is SU Close to Cocoa and the green is Certainly Celery. Can you see the awesome bling in the upper right flower? It's a glitter dot from Gina K.
Isn't' that awesome bling?? My sentiment is from the SU set Essence of Love. Finally the ribbon is by American Craft. I have to tell you awhile back I picked up some of this ribbon at AC Moore in the clearance bin. They had these little American Craft ribbon sets that normally sell for about $6.00 for $1.00! And I love it, it's fantastic quality! I wish when I had gone back that they had more.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Hanna Stamps Challenge

Here he is Mikey from Hanna Stamps!

The challenge last Friday in the Hanna Stamps SCS forum was to make a masculine card, how can I not use Mikey! I started with SU Close to Cocoa as my base and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the distressed embossing folder. The great striped paper (which I ripped for some texture effect) is by Basic Grey the Sugared collection. Tamara will have some awesome Basic Grey posted soon in the MDC store. I colored Mikey using Prismacolor markers and then mounted him on this really new cool paper by Core'dinations will also be available at MDC. It's great textured paper which does not have a white core it has a color core. I did rip it a bit for texture and to show the color under Mikey, not sure how well the color shows in the picture but believe me it's pretty cool. In the corner I added the cute sentiment (Hampton Arts) in the TV set, isn't that cool? The set is part of the Mikey set as well.

If you like Hanna Stamps then you will want to check out their SCS forum for fun challenges and a release party this Thursday night. I can't wait to see all the new sets, 4 NEW sets. That includes 2 mini sets as well. I have been loving these Hanna's alot, they are sure to break the piggy bank! LOLOLOL! I have to say it's great to find a company whose images are so super cool and the owner is super nice.

Thanks all for now!

Mothers Day from MFT

It's funny how you start with something for inspiration but end up with something else. That's what happened here. Every Saturday Lauren posts sketches on her blog so everyone can get creative. I've been absent for a while but I was all ready to pull it off this past week. This was her sketch from April 19 - Here.

Ok, so I took pieces of the sketch I suppose. LOL! I seriously sat down with it with all the best intentions. I wanted to use my new stamps I got from MFT. I really loved this set when I first saw it, so perfect for Mothers Day and Spring in general. When I started working with the sketch I realized that the image was a bit too big compared to what Lauren had in mind for her sketch. I really wanted to use this awesome Basic Grey paper as well. Basically my inspiration did come from Lauren and her sketch but as I started things shifted a bit. I'm hope Lauren won't mind too much. :-)

I used Copics and Primsacolor markers to color in. I use pop dots again to make the image pop out. Her lovely flower pot is decorated using the awesome Basic Grey cupcake paper as is the background patterned paper. Tamara will have some Basic Grey posted to the MDC website soon. I added stickles to the flowers as well a little bit of glitter is a must!

Mothers & Daughters Challenge

This week is my first "official" post (challenge) as part of the Mothers & Daughters design team. I decided to incorporate a few of the awesome products including an Image from Outlines and paper by Basic Grey, Hanko Designs & Core'dinations.

This image is so "springy" I love it. I colored in using markers and mounted it on Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi. The burgundy paper under the image is paper by Core'dinations. I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. The cool thing about this paper is the core. I apologize but the photo doesn't capture it well. I tried sanding the dots to expose the cool effect. Tearing the paper would show this better. But it does not have a white core it has a colored core. I this case it is pink. It's pretty cool. I will do some tearing for my next sample with it to show you how cool. The awesome delicate looking paper underneath is some of the Washi Paper by Hanko. This paper is amazing. It's a very delicate "tissue" like paper. For the flowers on the sides I punched using Basic Grey paper and added brads to the middle. And finally check out the watering can! I added lots of glitter!! I used my Stickles, if you haven't tried them yet it is a must especially if you like glitter.

Definitely check out the blogs for the other design team members (HERE) as I know they will have posted some awesome things today as well. And while you are there you should check out the great products. I'm really excited about working with them and the great products at M&D. Please stay tuned.....

Well it's supposed to be another nice spring day today so we are headed outdoors to play.

Ready for some summer fun?

Well springtime seems to be here in the Northeast. It's been close to 70 and beautiful the last few days. I made this card (a little late) for Kristi of Hanna Stamps. The gals in the Hanna Stamps forum posted this little "challenge" to welcome Kristi back from her vacation. A nice idea I thought. Things have been super crazy around here with personal things so I have not had time to stamp much. I did however pull this out in a few minutes. Ok I admit I had Sophie already colored in and in my Hanna Stamps pouch. LOLOL! But I really wanted to get a Hanna challenge in. So here is my somewhat simple creation using the great Sophie from Hanna Stamps.

I started with Stampin up's Rose Red, the embossing is using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The great background paper is from Mothers & Daughters Creations. It is an awesome summertime fun GLITTER paper. I actually mounted it on SU Chocolate Chip. The brads are by Making Memories. Lately I've been using pop dots / dimensional quit often but my photos don't always show it. I tried to take a picture to show the dimension a bit....

Thanks for stopping by. I will have more samples using products from Mothers & Daughters Creations as well so be sure to check back.

I may not get a chance to post everyday but please continue to visit I hope to get back in the swing of things soon.

Mothers & Daughters - Sleeping Bunny

I have shared with you my excitement about being asked to be on the permanent Mothers & Daughters design team here. Now here is one of my first creations! This great sleeping bunny is by Serendipity Stamps. Mothers & Daughters has a bunch of the awesome Serendipity Stamps, check it out here. The quality is superb for these stamps.

It's springtime so why not use a bunny? Bunnies don't have to mean just Easter right? Just the other day we saw a bunny hop across the backyard, the kiddies definitely got a kick out of that. I was stressing over the sketch to use for this card but in the end thought it turned out ok. Maybe somewhat simple but hey simple works. Sometimes it's better simple that overdone.

When it comes to sketches I do try and carry my little notebook around in case of ideas at strange times so I can write it down or draw an idea. But I have to say many times I just sit down with the stamps or paper that I want to use and it all goes from there. Usually that works. LOLOL.

So for this card I started with SU Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate. I used one of my new Cuttlebug folders to emboss the background. The awesome floral patterned paper can be found in the M&D Store. And check out the fuzzy tail I used white flock for that.

Sneak Peek

I know it's been a few days but I'm here. Lots of things going on so I haven't had much stamping time. I am still excited about being asked to be on the Mothers & Daughters Creations Design Team. We have a challenge coming soon and I started some work on it. I wanted to share a sneak peek. Check this adorable bunny out. Isn't he darling? Did you see his great fuzzy tail? This great bunny is by Serendipity Stamps. Tamara has some great Serendipity stamps in stock you will want to check it out.

The full creation will be coming. In the meantime I have lots to do and hopefully will sneak some more stamping time later tonight. I just finished a card to send to Stampington Publications! Woo Hoo. I don't think I can share that yet though, I will have to double check the rules for submission.

Thanks for stopping by.

Exciting News & Shades of Purple

I have some super exciting news to share with you. You may remember that I have been a Guest Designer for Mothers & Daughters. Tamara has been fantastic as the design team, I've loved working with them and the great products they have. Well, my Guest term is coming to close but Tamara asked me to stay on the permanent DT! WOO HOO! I was pretty excited! of course I said yes immediately. This news came at a great time after a long hard day, so I was happy. So I will have many awesome things to share soon.

What I do have to share today I made a few days ago but things have been hectic. Isn't this bird darling? It's a clear set by Inkadinkadoo. This is not based on a specific challenge but I wanted to finally use one of the awesome birds from this set as well as my new rectangle nestablities! Yes my LSS had some in!

I stamped the bird and colored in with various shades of purple using Prismacolor markers. I added some glitter to him as well for sparkle. I cut and embossed him using my new rectangle nesties and then cut the larger rectangle in SU Orchid Opulence. The white background was created using the Swiss Dots embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. The purple patterned paper is by DCWV. The ribbon is from my stash I got at AC Moore, gotta love $1.00 grab bags of ribbon! The cool metallic looking black dots I picked up at Joannes. Yes I am a FREQUENT visitor of Michael's, Joanne's and AC Moore. They are all real close to each other and about 15 mins from my house!!! Sick huh? LOLOL. This turned out to be somewhat simple but slightly elegant.

Thanks for stopping by.

If you have not ordered from MFT yet now is the time. Kim will donate 10% of all proceeds to the family for their event on April 26. I am not affiliated to MFT except that I love their stamps and this story breaks my heart.

Pineapple Riley

Each week in the Hanna Stamps SCS forum there is a challenge. Last Friday the challenge was to create a shaped card. I love shaped cards. Many times you can find cool templates online other times I make my shapes. For this challenge I made my own shape. I wanted to use this awesome Riley in the hammock and thought about what shape I can use. Well this Riley makes me think Hawaii! And when I think of Hawaii besides palm trees I think of pineapples! I remember when I went to Kauai and Maui for my honeymoon and the tropical fruit was amazing! So I tried my best to "draw" the pineapple shape. Actually I used PowerPoint and used one of the drawing lines to come up with the pineapple shape.

Details:
Image is Riley by Hanna Stamps. I colored him in using my Prismacolor and Copic makers. I mounted him on Stampin Up's chocolate chip. The cool flowers are from the Michael's bridal section and to them I added some stickles. The base of the pineapple is chocolate chip and these awesome background papers are by Cosmo Cricket, Fleuriste line. You can this great paper here. The awesome sentiment is a rub-on by Crate Paper and can be found here.

That's all for now. It was a busy weekend so I didn't get much done except Riley here. Hopefully this week I'll get some more done. And this week my new Hanna stamps should arrive!

Wedding Bells

Do you guys find yourself making cards all the time but then you don't have the appropriate one when the occasion arises? Tonight we have a wedding to attend so of course I needed a card. After doing Lauren's weekly sketch last week I really liked how my card came out so I used that sketch again to make a wedding card.

The stamp I used is (can you believe?) from the Target dollar spot. They had a few different themed sets so I figured what can you lose for a dollar. When I took them out I will tell you they are very thin, but then I tried stamping with it and it worked fine! I really thought it wasn't going to stamp well at all! So, this cute bell is one from Target. I colored it in using Copics as well as my old trusty Bic markers since I didn't have a Copic in the Burgundy, yet :-)

The great "love" paper can be found here at Mothers & Daughters Creations. The base is SU Regal Rose and I mounted it on Baroque Burgundy. The pink scalloped paper is by DCWV. For a little glitz I added some Stickles to the bell. The ribbon I had in my stash from the bags I picked up at AC Moore and the brads are from Making Memories I believe.

Hopefully I'll have some time tomorrows to stamp if I'm not too tired from the wedding which is sure to go late! It starts at 7:00pm. Have a great day!

SCS Color Challenge

I worked on this for this week's SCS color challenge. The challenge was to use SU Real Red, Glorious Green and Night of Navy. Wow is all one can say! Challenge it is! This is what I came up with. This great bird is by Inkadinkadoo and I used the old chalkboard technique. The green that it is mounted on I will admit is not SU, I tried to find something in my stock that was close enough. I used black as my final layer. The pattered paper is real red it is from the SU hostess pack, that too is mounted on black. The cool felt flower in the lower right is something called felt fusion by Queen and Co.

Sorry to be quick and brief but it always end up late when I have time to post and I'm soo tired. Gotta tell you two two year olds can really tire one out!!! LOLOL!

Sketch Challenge

I finally had a chance to do Lauren's weekly sketch challenge this was her challenge from this past Saturday. For this card I pulled out some beautiful papers from Mothers & Daughters Creations. This gorgeous paper in the background is by Hanko. It's a beautiful delicate washi paper and worked so well with this design. The floral stamped image is by Imaginisce and can also be found at M&D here. My base is SU Cameo Coral and then Mellow Moss. I added some paper piercing in the lower right corner just for an added element.

This was another card I started working on and took a little time to get it "going". But once I pieced it all together it worked like a charm. Thanks Lauren for a wonderful sketch to work with.

Hanna Challenge

Thursday night in the Hanna Stamps SCS forum 2 new Hannas were released. It was a fun party but sometimes so hard to keep up with all the chatter.

With this release they have two challenges going on. One challenge was to make a card so that the open side is about 1/2 inch shorter than the back. I definitely did fold my card leaving a bit more than a 1/2 inch I swear! :-) But then I decided to add some scalloped paper to the edge so I hope that you can still see it IS indeed shorter! :-) I also added some green glitter using a glitter pen to her shirt and shoes. I scrapped a few things before finishing this card. The green/brown color scheme was inspired by a show I was watching on HGTV the other night. They decorated a bedroom using greens/browns and it really turned out nice.

Where does the time go?

I haven't had time for two days to stamp much, how sad! Time flies too fast these days.

Last night was the Hanna Stamps release party which was fun. It's always a good time just chatting away with fellow stampers. You should check out the new releases: Passport and Tool Time. "Does anyone know what time it is? TOOL TIME!" OK i know a bit cheesy but I couldn't help myself. Does anyone know what I am talking about? C'mon I know you guys remember!

Here is an enabler for you... Target dollar spot! I went today and they had new stamping/scrapping stuff. They even had clear stamps! I haven't tried stamping with them yet and they do seem a bit thin but for a dollar I had to get them. I'll let you know if they work ok. Yesterday I was super psyched when I went to Joanne's because they FINALLY got some of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders in. I was able to snag 4 of them. Of course I didn't have my coupon! But I was not going to leave my treasures. At the register I checked out with this lady who sees me there ALL the time with my kids so I asked her if she had a coupon at the register. I don't think they usually do that though, but she was so nice and gave me a discount on each of the folders! How awesome is that? I got Diamonds in the Rough, Floral Fantasy, Allegro and Perfectly Paisley. I think those are all new right? If not they are definitely new to my collection. The one I HAVE to have is Swiss Dots and I think I will be able to get that one soon.

Let me run, need to organize a bit and hopefully tomorrow I will have some time for stamping!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hanna Pumping Iron

Hanna likes to keep in shape and pump some iron. When I first saw this set "Getting Physical" by Hanna Stamps I had this idea in my head. I wanted to create a "template" card for her. Of course it's a working out set so dumbbells are the first thing to come to mind. I did not use a specific template so there is no credit to give except to myself (let me know if you have seen a dumbbell template out there though). I started with a hexagon shape (I used powerpoint to help me create nice straight lines) to create the sides and just added the middle. I started with a black base and used this awesome black/white/silver glitter paper from a DCWV stack pack. Hanna needs to be super glitzy! The "blue" hue paper I used is SU Tempting Turquoise. I used Primsacolor markers to color Hanna and Copics for the dumbells. I added some stickles to Hanna's dumbell for more glitz!

Don't forget that tonight is the big Hanna party in the Hanna Stamps SCS forum HERE. It's sure to be a blast and two new Hanna's will be revealed. From the sneak peeks I've seen they look fabulous!

Gotta run need to get the Margarita's ready for the party.

Sophie Hits the Beach

This is Sophie waving hello from the beach sporting her new sparkly bikini. Sophie is on the newest additions over at Hanna Stamps.

This layout using Lauren's weekly sketch challenge. Don't you hate it when things just grow legs and walk off your desk? When I sat down to do this card I knew I had a "Beach" sentiment from Imaginisce. Of course I think it went into hiding because I can't find it! ERRR! :-) So I used "Sunshine" instead, also by Imaginisce. You can find some great Imaginisce stamps and this beach themed paper at Mothers and Daughters Creations. I decided to add some paper piercing in the left corner for an added touch. In the end I was feeling like this card was missing something. I toyed with adding other elements but then just decided less is more to just leave it be.

Details:
Paper: Wild Wasabi (SU), DCWV, Imaginisce
Stamps: Imaginisce (Mothers & Daughters), Hanna Stamps

Don't forget the next release party for Hanna Stamps is this Thursday in the SCS forum here.

Thanks for looking.
