Mothers and Daughters - Layout and a Card

I have been busy working on the challenges at Mothers and Daughters Creations and it's been alot of fun. All the challenges were posted on the Design Team blogs. This card was Tamara's challenge and the layout (also Tamara's) is the bonus challenge. I am almost done with Jennifer's challenge as well, that one was indeed a challenge for me at first. It involves making a box, that means folding and measuring etc. LOL However, I think it turned out pretty cute I just need to add some finishing touches.

Here is the card for Tamara's challenge. Her challenge was to use the colors Red, Green and Pink. I used Rose Romance, Baroque Burgandy from Stampin Up and patterned paper from DCWV for the green. For my layout I used Lauren's Saturday weekly sketch and I think it really worked nicely. The ribbon I got as a bargain at A.C. Moore they were selling bags of ribbon for $1.00!!! I only got 3 bags, I should get some more it is very nice quality ribbon. I used the Stampin Up scallop punch and punched holes around the edge to give it a lacey look. In the center of each flower I added some bling. I colored in the flowers with Prismacolor markers. I am really starting to like the Prismacolor markers as well as the Copics. A good friend of mine gave me bunch of the Prismacolor's, how awesome is that? I am still in the Gina K Copic Marker club as well. I will have lots and lots of markers which I love!

Here is the scrapbook page. I did 8x8 sized, those are the sizes I have been making when I get around to making pages for my children. The challenge was to also use butterflies and have something pop out from the page. I used this great paper from Mothers and Daughters. It is brown and pink with lots of glitter. I cut around the pretty pretty flowers to create the "border" near the picture. I adhered it with pop dots so it does stand out. (I apologize if the photo does not show that well) The ribbon is by American Crafts. And of course a little girl page needs bling so I added some bling to the bottom. The base paper is Stampin Up's Regal Rose. The center paper is embossed and slightly shimmery which looks great, my apologlizes becaues I'm not sure who makes it. I buy lots of loose papers as well as packs, but with the single sheets I always forget to make note of the company before using it and covering up the credits on the back, errr. LOLOL
