This week's challenge at the Play Date Cafe is a color splash challenge. So I pulled out my Melody Ross stamps by Unity Stamp Co called She Sprouted Wings. I used the large Be Brave sentiment image as the focus for this CAS card.

Shopaholic Journal Page

I've been into doing some art journaling lately and love it. I was inspired by the fabulous Melody Ross and I am taking the Brave Girls Club Soul Restoration right now. Lots of great stuff! So I"ve been playing along with Julie from Balzer's Designs.

So here is a one of my recent journal pages:

The "words" are from a piece of pattern paper as are the flowers. I stamped the shoes which is from Unity. I love how you can see the lacey fringe, that is actually on my very first journal page but you can see from all the other pages.

So, I've been loving some Mod Podge and paint lately! Fun stuff!

Play Date Cafe Challenge

Happy Sunday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. This week I played along with the gals from the Playdate Cafe and this week's color challenge.

I pulled out some Unity Stamps and this is what I came up with:

My background is grey I know it looks black in the picture but its Gina K Designs Smoky Slate so it's a very dark shade of grey. My background paper is the Cosmo Cricket "Material Girl".

Just Us Girls Color Challenge

This week our January guest, Carla has picked our awesome colors and Kristin is hosting on the JUGS BLOG. The colors this week are: pink/coral, aqua and green.


Here is what I came up with using one of my Tim Holtz's alterations dies and my new Big Shot!


The sentiment is from the December Unity Kit of the Month. I used all SU papers and added Dazzling diamonds to the bird. This looks so much better in real life! I think I need a photography lesson or what I probably really need is a better background and nice daylight!

Pamper Yourself

Do you take time to pamper yourself? Well you should! check out this fun relaxing image from InStyle Stamps, this is Asia.


This was a fun simple card to create perfect for any girlie in your life who needs to take it easy. I colored Asia with Copic markers and paper pieced the tub using Life is Good paper by Echo Park. Gotta love the sparkly bubbles for that I used diamond Stickles, a girl has to have some glitter! The ribbon is by Stampin Up as are the solid colors I used. The sentiment is my own words just typed up on the computer.

Art Journal - Live your life with grace.....

So I've started Art Journaling! Yep it's true. I signed up for Melody Ross Soul Restoration class which begins tomorrow. The class hasn't even started but I've been so inspired to get a little more artsy and have loved it. I will start sharing my art journal pages here as a part of Julie Balzer's art journal a day challenge. Granted I may not end up making one every day but hey you never know, even it ends up being once a week.

JUST US GIRLS #66

Welcome to another challenge with JUST US GIRLS!

Today is a special day because we have a very special treat this week. Gina K Designs is sponsoring this week's technique challenge.

This week's challenge is called Envy of the Envies (envelopes that is!) We often put a lot of work into our beautiful card creations then pop them into a plain envelope and send them off. Well, I thought this week it would be fun to put some extra effort into making those first impressions (the envelope) just as special as the card inside.

Here's the 3 part challenge:

1. Make a card – no specs on this but if you have Gina K stamps we'd LOVE to see them :-)

2. Decorate your envelope to match/coordinate with your card

3. Finally, for this challenge we also want you to create a liner for your envelope to coordinate with your card. If you don't know how to make a liner please refer to this tutorial on Stamp TV. Gina K shows you just how to do it!http://stamptv.ning.com/video/lining-your-envelopes

Be sure to show us your both card and your envelope!
