My Favorite Things - Guest DT Contest

I decided to submit for this month's My Favorite Things Guest DT contest, the theme is "Think Spring". With all this cold weather this is an awesome theme to work with. I decided to use the "Happy Mother's Day" set. This stamp is now available as a digi stamp, how cool is that?

Here is my project:

I also wanted to show some other photos of the project:

Here is just the card:

I used lovely pattern paper by Memory Box and paper pieced the flower pot on all pieces of this project using Basic Grey. Dew drops adorn this card in the corners. And stickles (my favorite embellishement) gives the flowers a little sparkle!

The other "piece" of this project is a little wooden box that I got at Michael's. I painted it and put some pink pattern papers on the sides. On the lid I used the awesome Mother's Day image but layered it up. Inside I put a magnet that I made (using a bathroom tile) using the same image:

The magnet is layered with some crystal lacquer for sealing and an awesome shine.
I have to say I had a blast making this little Mother's Day gift set for this challenge. I love when you can put together a project and it comes together nicely just the way you wanted.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things April Guest Designer Call

This is my creation for the My Favorite Things Guest designer call for April. The challenge was to use buttons on your card.

I layered this card using papers by the new Citrus collection by DCWV. I cut out one of the sparkly flowers and used a pop dot to make a layer and added a button to it. A flower cutout from the same paper adorns the flower pot with a button. I used copics to color in and mounted it on a piece of red paper by Bazzill.

Some side views of the layers in my card:

That's it for now. Lot's of My Favorite Things this month but I had a blast with this and the idol audition so we'll see what happens. Hey you never know...

Thanks for swinging on by!

Till later...

My Favorite Things Idol Audition

My Favorite Things is holding a "MFT Idol" audition. I thought I would give it a go. I created this card from a invitation I received from a friend for her son's birthday (not a handmade card). It's sort of like flip flap kind of card.

Here is the front view:

I liked how this turned out. I haven't seen this type before and I thought it was so cool when I got it in the mail I had to keep it as a template.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Maybe next week I'll have another idol creation for you, fingers crossed we'll see.

Till later...
