My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

This week I decided to participate in Cindy's sketch challenge for My Favorite Things. Did I tell you how excited I was when I walked in my LSS last week to find they had some MFT sets? I picked up a set and a couple of the floral singles as well.

Here is the Sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used SU Groovy Guava and glitter paper from a DCWV stack pack. This is the Annie LaPoint - Chamomile image by MFT. I colored with copics and added some stickles to the flowers. I used my scallop circle nesties to cut out the image and the bottom circle.

That's it for now.

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Mother's Day!

This is the same layout I used for this card . I liked it and decided to make another one using different colors. Bliss blue is the blue layer with Regal Rose. I colored using Copics and added Stickles for the glitter. The flower pot is cut out using Washi paper by Hanko Designs and can be found here. The striped glitter paper is from a DCWV stack pack and the ribbon is from my finds at AC Moore. The background is embossed using my embossing folders in the "bug".

Sorry for the quick post today. Don't forget the sale at Mother's & Daughters goes through tomorrow, so check out this link for all the details.

Have a fantastic day!

Mothers Day from MFT

It's funny how you start with something for inspiration but end up with something else. That's what happened here. Every Saturday Lauren posts sketches on her blog so everyone can get creative. I've been absent for a while but I was all ready to pull it off this past week. This was her sketch from April 19 - Here.

Ok, so I took pieces of the sketch I suppose. LOL! I seriously sat down with it with all the best intentions. I wanted to use my new stamps I got from MFT. I really loved this set when I first saw it, so perfect for Mothers Day and Spring in general. When I started working with the sketch I realized that the image was a bit too big compared to what Lauren had in mind for her sketch. I really wanted to use this awesome Basic Grey paper as well. Basically my inspiration did come from Lauren and her sketch but as I started things shifted a bit. I'm hope Lauren won't mind too much. :-)

I used Copics and Primsacolor markers to color in. I use pop dots again to make the image pop out. Her lovely flower pot is decorated using the awesome Basic Grey cupcake paper as is the background patterned paper. Tamara will have some Basic Grey posted to the MDC website soon. I added stickles to the flowers as well a little bit of glitter is a must!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Enabler - Special at MFT!

I don't have a card to share this evening but I do have a very special offer to share with you. You will want to check out Kim's blog the owner of My Favorite Things. Kim's friend Tish lost her battle to ovarian cancer this past week and left behind a husband and two young boys. Reading the post just brought tears to my eyes.

Kim is having a sale to benefit Tish's family. You can save 10% on your stamp order from MFT starting tomorrow, April 15 until Friday April 18. The coupon code is Tish. If you have not ordered from MFT yet now is the time. Kim will donate 10% of all proceeds to the family for their event on April 26. I am not affiliated to MFT except that I love their stamps and this story breaks my heart.

How Sweet It Is....

This is my card for this month's Guest Designer challenge at My Favorite Things. They just had their release party on SCS and it was fun. It was a fun bunch of people at the party! They released two new sets one being a cute cowgirl set. This will have to be quick since it's late but I really wanted to get it done. I used today's SCS sketch challenge as my layout inspiration. I cut out one of the flowers from the chair to add to the ottoman, I felt like it needed something. The great flowers are once again from the bridal section at Michael's, enabled by Lauren. My dark blue is Stampin Up's Night of Navy, the other blue paper including the patterned one are DCWV stack packs. This MFT set I used is called How Sweet It Is.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

Here is my creation using the sketch challenge over at MFT on Split Coast Stampers. The set I chose to use is called "How Sweet It Is". I used markers to color and stickles to add glitter. I can't seem to get enough glitter! I used the scallop punch from SU for my "circle" image in the corner.

Gotta love these cool stamps. New release next week can't wait! I finally added a watermark to my picture. I've had issues with that, but I found a way I can with a software on my laptop. We'll see how it goes. But I do have to thank Lisa S because she sent me a cool watermark but at the time couldn't figure out how to make it work. Maybe I can try again with this software we'll see.

Baby It's Cold Outside

With a snowstorm on it's way this was a great time to receive me new stamps from My Favorite Things. MFT has the coolest stamps, such a neat style to them. At first I remember thinking what is with all the headless people but then you think they are pretty darn cool. Anyhow, I made this card using a sketch from the MFT forum at SCS, it was a sketch challenge. I'm not 100% happy with it, I think I should have used a darker background instead of white. But I just went with it for now and it's not too bad. Of course I used my Ranger Stickles for the snow, what would a card be without the stickles! The embossed background is using my Cuttlebug, of course! The background papers are from my many stack packs I get at Joannes. And the buttons are Stampin Up! I do have to say I need to get more SU buttons! Maybe I'll wait for the new catty! LOLOL.

So here it is and let's get ready for some snow! OK, so who lives in an area that receives lots of snow?? I don't love the snow because of the mess but I can be home tomorrow so it should be pretty! I wouldn't want to live in an area that does not see the seasons. Although lately it seems we jump from Summer to Winter and Winter to Summer! What the heck happened to Fall and Spring??? Oh well.....

Unity Stamp Co Tuesday Inspiration!

I'm up on the UNITY BLOG today sharing some cards I made using 2 stamp sets! I used the February background of the month called   as...
