Today I want to share a card I made using one of the older images by Maigan Lynn called Loves Song.
For this one I embossed the background using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The layer under the mermaid I made using sprays by ranger and edged the piece in Black Soot distressed ink.
Be sure to check out all the wonderful images by Maigan Lynn in the Queen Kat Designs store!

Just Us Girls Photo Inspiration Challenge
Marisa is out hostess this week for JUST US GIRLS! It's photo inspiration week!
Here is what I came up with:
I used a new stamp from Unity Stamp Co called Sadie Girl, it's from the Angie Girl collection. My fabulous stampy friend Angie Blom is the artist on these (and many more at Unity) stamps! Forgive the coloring I'm in the middle of figuring out what coloring tools I need. I have copies but now many are getting dry and I have not invested in refills :-( I actually (don't laugh) use Bic and Sharpies as well. Any other simple, inexpensive suggestions?
Be sure to swing on by the Just Us Girls Design Team for great inspiration:
How to play: Please copy and use our graphic on your post. You need to upload your project for this week's challenge to your online blog or to a public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Linky Tools form at the the post. If you upload to online galleries, please use the keyword or tag, JUGS173. After you post to Linky Tools you may also leave a comment here.
Well that's all for now!

Friends with Flair Friday
It's Friday and time for Unity Friends with Flair! I have some simple things to share this week. I'm still going at it with The Project of Life! YEAH! I know it's only January, if I'm still doing it come the spring and summer then I should be excited!
Here is my spread for Week 3! Again going at it very simple, not trying to be fancy and perfect. I used Unity Stamps on the 12 x 12 layout. The paper is awesome on this layout it's by Prima and it's their fancy mulberry sheets that already have stitching on it.
I'm also taking Melody Ross's Brave Girl Art Class. I just love taking online classes because it gives me focus and something simple to look forward to when they post new videos etc. So I altered a book so use to create in for the class. She is doing alot on canvas for the class which I love and probably will do as well but I thought a small simple journal would be nice also. I like journals because if I feel like I "messed" up or it just doesn't look right at least it's in my own book. Although when that happens on canvas you just gesso over it and start again, would give a painting or collage some character a story.
Anyhow, here is the super duper simple cover I did just collaging down some pattern paper and I used one of Unity's stamps on it designed by Melody Ross:
SO it's something that is so simple not fancy or beautiful but totally makes me happy. I love simple things.
Well that' s all for now!
Stay tuned tomorrow I will have a card using one of Unity's New Angie Girls for the Just Us Girls Challenge!

Missing You
Today I thought I'd share a sweet card combining two great Maighan Lynn images from her Willow Lane Collection over at Queen Kat Designs.
For this I used Sweet Denim- blue and Sweet Denim Ivy.
Here is what I came up with:
A sweet but simple card using both images. What a great card to send to a family member you don't see often. I have a little boy and little girl so I though pairing the two images together would be so sweet! I used a mixed of papers from Jillibean Soup.
Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls Color Challenge
This week's Just Us Girls challenge is a color challenge. The colors being Lime Green, white and gray!
Here is what I came up with:
I used the Sweet Tooth set from Sweet Stamp Shop! I decided to go simple and try to embrace the white a little at least. I used some stickles for the gum balls.

Friends with Flair Friday - Angie Girl Collection
TGIF! It's time for Unity Friends with Flair! Last week I shared my Project of life pages, this week I have another layout to share as well.
Yes I received my new Unity Stamps in the mail! I got the fabulous Angie Blom's girl stamps. I got 2 of them: Sadie Girl and Andie Girl. I have to tell you these girl stamps are HUGE! Her height is about 5 1/2 which is the height of our basic sized cards.
I wanted to ink her up right away last night so I decided since the stamp is so wonderfully large to stamp it on a 12 x 12 piece and create a very simple layout:
Definitely super simple! I was attempting to embrace the white :-) I thought the measured moments sentiment in the lower left corner would be perfect after I stamped it not so much. But just went with it anyhow. But these girl stamps are going to rock making girlie scrapbook pages for sure!
Close up:
Yes I did get a little extra ink around the flowers but that was my over inking and rocking issue! LOL! It does bug me but I decided it was ok not to strive for the perfection and it still looks good! :-)
Be sure to check them all out they are ONSALE for $12 right now! I mean you CAN NOT get a stamp this size for $12 anywhere! Plus they come with 2 great sentiments! While you are in the Unity shop picking up your girls be sure to check out their Winter Garage Sale as well! Lots of great deals there!
That's all for now!

Mother May I
Today I am sharing a card with using one of Maigan Lynn's images from her Queen Kat Designs Willow Lane Collection called Mother May I.
I went with a fun pink and green pattern and pulled out my doilies for this one. I cut the doily in half to use on the edge of one side.
This fun and simple card would make a great birthday card for a little girl!
Be sure to check out the Queen Kat Store and the new release from last night.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Project of Life!
PROJECT OF LIFE 2013
WOW, it's been a long time since I've posted! But I've been busy with the kids and just getting stuff done.
This year I am going to embark on the doing the Project of Life. Based on Becky Higgin's system this is something done weekly. Many have modified it to fit their own needs etc. I've always loved the idea. I did the December daily this past year on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets one for each day including Christmas. I loved doing it. Now of course that was less than a month a year is a whole lot harder but I'm going to try.
My basic commitment to myself is to at the very least create a 2 page spread monthly. I figured that is doable. I bought a 2013 hardback journal from Michaels' for a few bucks to keep track of what we do each day. So far I have been writing stuff in it even just boring stuff that I did that day. I figured it will be a good thing to refer back to if I sit down weeks later to work on project of life pages.
So far I bought my 12 x 12 binder and inserts for it. I got a bunch of ones to hold 12 x 12 sheets because I would like to do one 12 x 12 layout and the other page being one of those "pocket" pages that holds a few pictures and you can insert journalling cards.
I also decided to organize some supplies I know I will want to use. SO I altered a tissue box to hold those stamps and pads to keep them easily accessible. I altered the tissue box the way the lovely Gina K showed us a few years ago in a stamp tv video found HERE. (I think there are a few parts to this tutorial so be sure to check them all out on Stamp TV). I always loved altering things like boxes and once I saw how she used the tissue box I was hooked!
Here is my Project of Life Box with some goodies inside:
I am going to put things in this box as I come across stuff in my stamp room or if I buy new stuff.
Here are the Unity Stamps that are in the box so far:
I am sure I will pull out more and more but these are ones that for right now are perfect!
Check out these journal pads I found at Target by We R Memory Keepers:
I also have a Tim Holtz set because I love the sentiments and a Stamps of life set for the empty lined grid.
I also wanted to show you my first "title" page in the book:
This is from papers and chipboard stickers I had left over after attending a CKU.
Well that's all for now!
Tomorrow I will share my first page for 2013 for Unity Friends with Flair Friday!!
