Mothers & Daughters Creations - BLOG ROLL DAY 5

Mother’s Day is a time for us to reflect back on the special women in our lives - mother, grandmother, daughter, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin, mentor friend. Today’s special Mothers and Daughters Traditions Blog Roll challenge is being hosted by Melita on her blog. Join Melita in making a special scrap page to honor and remember a special woman in your life. Visit her blog for some wonderful ideas and a chance to win some blog candy that says traditions. Laurie and Mia have also posted pages on their blogs, so visit them for even more inspiration and more chances to win today’s blog candy!

Then, visit Tamara’s blog for our second challenge of the day. Old family pictures often have a vintage feel and what better way to highlight them than with vintage styled borders, embellishments, mats, and frames. Tamara takes you through the process of making some wonderful designs for your own scrap book and is offering some gorgeous “vintage” style blog candy as well. Need more ideas for vintage themed designs? Check out the samples for this challenge made by Cathy, Leah and Robin.

Here is my special mother's day page which I framed to give to my mom for Mother's Day:

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a nice weekend. We had some nice weather and now today it's really cold and rainy!

Anyhow, Mondays mean another fun challenge with the Mothers & Daughters Creations Scrapbook team. The challenge this week was to use a sketch at 52 Sketches. Since the sketches are updated weekly on a Sunday and our challenge is for monday I used "last week's" sketch number 15.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used pattern paper by Imaginisce and the cool flower in the lower left is a chip board piece by Scenic Route. That I painted with a shimmery acrylic paint.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog and check out what the other DT members came up with.

Mothers & Daughters Creations

I'm a little late on some postings lately but here are some fun things I worked on. Each week the Mothers & Daughters Creations design team(s) have challenges. Last Thursday the MDC Card team had the challenge of making a bookmark. I love making bookmarks, a fun size to work with. I of course usually go pretty traditional with mine. Here is what I came up with:

Then today the scrapbook team challenge was to make an Easter decoration. I will admit this is a repeat as I was swamped with alot of family stuff this past weekend and last week my Copic class. This cute little basket I actually made last year but wanted to share it again. It is using a cute image from Imaginisce Stamps which Tamara of MDC carries in the store.

That's it for now.

Mothers & Daughters Creations Thursday Challenge

This week's MDC challenge is to use a photo on your card. Pretty cool huh? I didn't know what to use but I found this awesome photo from my trip to the Bahamas a few years back and thought that it would make a nice card. Here is what I came up with:

My background surfboard paper is by Scenic Route and the Sentiment is by Imaginisce. Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog to see what the other DT members came up with for this cool challenge.

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

This week's MDC challenge was to use a sketch from Julie Bonner 52 sketches. We used last week's sketch #7.

Here is the sketch and my take on the sketch. I used a grey Bazzill sheet as my base and mounted it on black. At first I was not sure if this color scheme would work but in the end I liked it. I used awesome SEI lace paper on the side bar. On the right side I used some cool shimmery papers by SEI. I used the uniball signo white pen to add the dots along the edges and to write on the scalloped circle.

I think that is it. Be sure to swing by the MDC challenge blog to see what the other DT members cooked up for this awesome challenge.

Mothers & Daughters Creations Thursday Challenge

This week's card challenge was to use THIS awesome lace cardstock by SEI. So cool, the challenge was to "adhere" it without using glue or adhesive. I decided to use brads. I started with a white base and Regal Rose by SU. For my flowers I punched out a scalloped flower on Regal Rose and layered some SEI and Imaginisce paper. The flowers are from the Twitterpated - Flower Trails and I cut the flowers out of the paper. The "beautiful" sentiment is a stamp by Scenic Route - Charlotte Flowers.

Scapbook Mondays with MDC

This week the Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook challenge was to use the SEI paper "Love Birds". Here is what I came up with using my Kaitlyn's pictures with her first pair of jeans on at 6 months. I thought that the cool SEI papers would complement these pictures.

I hope that you will stop by the MDC Challenge Blog and check out what the other design team members have cooked up using this really cool paper.

Mothers & Daughters Thursday Challenge

Today's challenge for the Mothers & Daughters Design team was to use paper piercing. I pulled this cute little fox from Imaginisce. I paper pierced the corners of the olive green paper this fox is mounted on. I added stickles to his ears and tail. Check out that adorable pattern paper on bottom, this is also from the Twitterpatted line by Imaginisce.

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

This week the Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook challenge is to make a snow themed page. I decided to pick a photo from the first snow we had this year and the kids had a blast playing in the backyard. Fun times. I used sketch #4 from Julie Bonner 52 Sketches...52 Weeks as my base for inspiration.
All the pattern papers I used can be found in the Mothers & Daughters Creations store. My journaling and title I used the computer for some help.
Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog for more fun and inspiration from the MDC design team.

Mothers & Daughters Thursday Challenge

Hey there today's challenge at Mothers & Daughters Creations was a limited supply one. The challenge is: You can not use Nestabilities or Cuttlebug. Can use one patterned paper, cardstock, one embellishment, and two stamps, one of which will be a sentiment. This challenge is getting back to basics and it was a challenge for sure.

I used SU Wild Wasabi as my gren color cardstock and the pattern paper I used is by Bo Bunny. The cute Royal frog is by Imaginisce and check out that sweet sentiment "scatter joy", that is by Daisy Bucket. All these great products can be found at the Mothers & Daughters Creations store.

Take out the Trash Challenge

This week the scrapbook design team of Mothers & Daughters Creations is working on a challenge called "Take out the Trash". It is to use your scraps and random embellishments. I paired this challenge with Friday's sketch challenge at SCS.

Mine really came out random, I'm not sure yet what I think. All the paper I used was in my scrap pile of papers. I did not have to cut anything from a full regular sheet. The main title sentiment is by Daisy Bucket. The sentiment in the little tags on bottom are rub ons by Imaginisce. The pattern papers are by Imaginisce and Daisy Bucket. The pretty flower in the scallop circle is awesome delicate washi paper by Hanko Designs. I had this in my pile as well, I put it together a long time ago and never used it.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team cooked up. Also come check out our forum at Paper Craft Planet.

That's it for now. Till later.....

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

This week the challenge is to "cover it" or use Ribbons. So I decided to "cover it". I picked a piece of chip board by Imaginisce and covered it with some pattern paper. This is my piece on the bottom with the date. I know I kept this pretty simple but I also loved that great mouse image by Stampavie and wanted him to get a look on this page. I colored him in with Copics and added Stickles.

This was taken the other day. My little ones have been fascinated with the ornaments this year and they keep rearranging them. But over all they have been good about it.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT team cooked up for this challenge.
