Saturday Sketch Time

Saturday can only mean another My Time My Saturday Sketch by Lauren. I'm sure you are familiar with Lauren and her amazing work so get ready for some fun things coming up regarding her Saturday sketches. You will want to play along.


Here is this week's sketch:

I've been all over scrapbook pages lately and I felt inspired to make a scrapbook page using Lauren's sketch this week. Recently, I bought a new scrapbook in 8 1/2 x 11 so I thought this sketch would work well in that size.

Here is what I came up with:

I added a few "extra" elements but I just had to. I used a chipboard K (I know the mytimeness in the upper corner is not part of the sketch :-)) which I painted and put pink glitter on. I was going to spell out my daughter's name Kaitlyn but time got away. Then I decided to add some photo corners as well.

Happy Valentine's Day and Saturday Sketch Time

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Is anyone doing anything super special today? We are not just hanging at home and having some dinner after the kids go to bed. Which is fine, I like it quiet.

Today is Saturday and time for another one of Lauren's fabulous sketches. This week I took a different route with her sketch and did a layout using it.

Saturday Sketch Time

Saturday Sketch Time

Every Saturday is Lauren's sketch and this week we were to use her Stocking Stuffer template as our "sketch". Have you seen that Papertrey has released and will continue to release "My Timeless Templates"? They are all created by the wonderful Lauren Meader. The stocking stuffer one is a free template so that you can give it a try.

I used some old Basic Grey I think from last year to cut the stockings out. The box holding the treats was made out of SU Mellow Moss. The red and green glitter papers are from DCWV and the ornaments hanging are by Memory Box. I stamped the ornaments and used Stickles to glitter them in. I love this stuff and I think it looks fantastic on the ornaments.



Here is a close up of the glitter.
So who has seen Twilight? I know some went for the midnight showing when it opened! I will probably go next weekend with a friend.

Monkey in the Grass

I love this little guy by Autumn Leaves. It's a small clear stamp. It seems like so many companies are going to clear stamps. I think for some the biggest issue with clear stamps is the quality of the images. I always said I prefer rubber to clear. However, I am not a "stamp snob" (can I say that? pls no offense to anyone) so I am very open to trying all stamps. Have you checked out Clear Dollar Stamps? Awesome images there!

This sketch is from Lauren's Saturday sketch challenge. It's a great layout, I did this pretty simple though. Very basic but I think it came out cute. I used Stampin Up Barely Banana as a base and the patterned paper is DCWV as is the blue scallop. The green is SU Mellow Moss. The sentiment is Stampin Up as well.

Flowers Flowers Everywhere

Yes for those of you with little kids and have to watch too much Blue's Clue's the title can be sung like the song: "Colors, Colors Everywhere" from an episode of Blue's Clue's. Yes, we watch it over and over again! Good thing I don't mind that cute little puppy!

WOO HOO, two challenges in one card. This card features Beate's Chalkboard Technique over at Splitcoast and Lauren's Saturday Sketch. Using these fantastic Silhouette Flowers over at Starving Artistamps. These bold beauties are perfect for this chalking technique.
