Starving Artistamps - CPS!

Starving Artistamps is this week's sponsor at CPS! Here is the awesome sketch:

I had some fun with Doodle Factory Urban (the skyline image) and Doddle Factory Winter.

Here is my take on this week's sketch:

I started with SU Certainly Celery and used pattern papers from a winter DCWV stack pack. I colored the images with copics and added stickles. The snowman and deer are popped out on pop dots for some dimension.

This is a quick post today, I have to run and try and get some stamping in today!

Swedish Collage Style

This is my creation for Starving Artistamps "Swedish Collage Style" challenge. What is this "style" you may ask? Check out all the details of this and the challenge here, it involves bright colors which I think is alot of fun. The contest will run until Oct 1.

I stamped and colored these awesome Doddle Factory images using Copics. I used SU Wild Wasabi as my base and the pattern papers as well as the chipboard sentiment are from the Target Dollar so from a while ago. I added lots of stickles as well.

Dare to get Dirty

Have you seen all the awesome challenges for "Dare to get Dirty" this year? I only participated in one! I know I really wanted to do more but I just didn't have time this week. I wanted to share one that I made for one of the sketch challenges.

Let's chat about adhesive shall we? We all have loads of it. I'll bet some have drawers full of different kinds from glue sticks to tape to mono adhesive. I usually reach for my ATG gun which I love. Then I received some Stampers Magic Tape to try out! This stuff is really cool especially when working with small images you need to stick down. Using the ATG works great but it's rather clumsy for little tiny things and images. With this tape you just peel off a bit stick your image on cut around and then peel off the back. Best part (for me at least) if you put your sticky image down and then say "oops" it's not in the right place you can pick it up without injuring your paper. It's Hula Time

How funny but cute is this little guy? This is a part of the DoodleFactory Tropics at Starving Artistamps. He just cracks me up. It was really cool because a few weeks ago I went to a stamp show and got to meet Tracey of Starving Artistamps. Super nice, but poor thing was feeling under the weather that day. While there I finally (I know I don't know what took me sooo long) picked up some of these awesome DoodleFactory guys. I will definitely have to get more! I colored him up with Copics and added stickles to the skirt and lei.

The sketch that I used is Lauren's Saturday sketch here. I had this guy all colored and glittered up so I thought he'd be perfect for her sketch. I didn't use the circle or sentiment though but added the little flowers instead. The base is SU Wild Wasabi and the awesome patterned paper is from the Obscure pack by Basic Grey. The little "gems" are The Robin's Nest jewels. I picked up two bottles at the stamp show as well but I apologize I forget which vendor it was.

Inspiration Challenge

Here is my take on this beautiful inspiration:

I actually started with a white base and adhered my patterned papers to it. I'll be honest I'm not sure "who" makes these papers. I believe one is Basic Grey. These were full 12 x 12 sheets that I usually pick up at Michaels/Joannes and I always end up cutting the ends off and not remembering what company there are. This great silhouette stamp is from Starving Artistamps. Be sure to check out this post regarding a special at SA through the end of March.

Flowers Flowers Everywhere

Yes for those of you with little kids and have to watch too much Blue's Clue's the title can be sung like the song: "Colors, Colors Everywhere" from an episode of Blue's Clue's. Yes, we watch it over and over again! Good thing I don't mind that cute little puppy!

WOO HOO, two challenges in one card. This card features Beate's Chalkboard Technique over at Splitcoast and Lauren's Saturday Sketch. Using these fantastic Silhouette Flowers over at Starving Artistamps. These bold beauties are perfect for this chalking technique. Scalloped Layers - Starving Artistamps

I know I stink at the titles! Errr.... I need to be much more creative. Anyhow, this card was a stressful one. In the end it's OK but I am still looking at it thinking I'm really not sure perhaps too simple? Here is the thing... I started with the orange colors. I was going to use Cameo Coral/Blush Blossom and I did make something. But you know what I did? I took it all apart and kept just the orange flowers. This great image is from Starving Artistamps. It's from their new silhouette flowers. While I am on the topic of Starving Artistamps you have to check out the new Gallery. There will be loads and loads of fantastic SA samples there. You'll definitely want to check it out.

The base of this card is Stampin Up's Mellow Moss. I used my new scalloped circle nestablities for the layering. Can I tell you it still pains me to hear that "crackle" when you run it through the Cuttlebug to cut. The flowers were stamped using the Shades of Orange blending box by Marvy. I added some diamond Stickles to the flowers because you know I love the glitter. The black background I ran though the Cuttlebug using the script flower. The green background paper is from a DCWV stack pack and it is actually cool in person very shimmery (sorry the photo does not pick it up).

What do you think? In person I think it looks a bit better than I was able to capture on camera. I kind of like how the orange colors pop. BTW, the 3 layers of scalloped circles are all on pop dots so it all POPS out! Like I said just a tad better in person, I'm sorry I was not able to capture it. I am definitely not a photographer but I've been trying to work on that.

Got Carrots??

I had this great little bunny from Starving Artistamps that really needed to see some ink! I think he is so cute! My first impression was Easter card, but instead I came up with him "chasing" carrots! Although I suppose it would make a cute Easter card as well.

I stamped and cut him out using the scalloped circle nestabilities. Mellow Moss (Stampin Up) is the background and large circle. I stamped the rabbit on Vanilla. I pulled out my white flock (Stampin Up) to create a "fluffy" look and used diamond sickles for his tail and ears. The background paper is from a DCWV stack pack and the ribbon from Michael's. I didn't have a "carrot" stamp so I decided to make simple, basic looking carrots.

Lauren's Saturday Sketch

Today I had time to work on Lauren's sketch challenge from last Saturday. This was the sketch. The only thing I realized just now is I didn't add the paper piercing, darn! Oh well. I used this cool Starving Artistamp flower. It's from the new silhouette flower line. These very bold stamps are just amazing.

For this card I started with Stampin Up Baroque Burgandy and embossed it with the script embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. The two background papers are from DCWV stack packs. The green one is very shimmery, not sure that the photo picks that up well. The ribbon actually from Walmart and I'm not sure about the paper flower in the corner, I believe it's from the Target dollar spot.

MORE SILHOUETTE FLOWERS AND A CHALLENGE

I hope everyone had a good weekend, probably a long weekend. Our weekend was nice, we went out on Saturday night which was alot of fun. Reconnecting with the hubby after a long week with the kids is always a nice thing.

This is a simple card I made using one of the new silhouette flowers at Starving Artistamps. As usual I used my Stampin Up Baroque Burgundy. Seriously, do you think SU has extras of this color in their back room or something? I hate when stores take away things you love! Anyhow, I stamped this awesome silhouette on Baroque Burgundy and use large black eyelets in the corners. The base is SU Mellow Moss and all the patterned paper is by Basic Grey.

Silhouette Flowers - Starving Artistamps

Here is one of the new silhouette flowers from Starving Artistamps. For this one I started with Stampin Up Vanilla and used the script Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. The polka dot paper is from Making Memories. The ribbon is a beautiful satin ribbon I found at Walmart at year end 75% off and the shiny bling is from the Target dollar spot. I stamped the flowers using Stampin Up's Baroque Burgundy and mounted it on matching paper. I was so bummed with SU took away Baroque Burgundy and Eggplant Envy they were always my favorite colors. I don't know what I will do when I run out of the paper, which is going to happen! :-(

It's a Hoot!

This great owl is part of the Doodle Factory Animals set at Starving Artistamps. Isn't he the cutest! I colored him in using Prismacolor markers. He has glitter on the green part of his wing and on his beak and feet. You know how much I love glitter so I had to add some sparkle on him. I mounted him on Stampin Up Close to Cocoa. The brown "glittery" background paper is from a DCWV stack pack and the green patterned paper is from Basic Grey, Perhaps paper pad. The flower is a fabric one by Autumn Leaves.

Have a GRAPE Day!

I have some more wonderful images to share from Starving Artistamps. I used this bunch of grapes for this simple and sparkly card. I left it simple because of the sparkles; I thought it worked nicely that way.

I started with Stampin Up Vanilla as a base. The great background paper is from a huge paper slab by Provo Craft. This sheet was perfect because it had grapes on it and had the "aged" appearance I was going for. I stamped using Brilliance Graphic Black. I have to tell you this is great ink, in case you have not tried it. It is pigment but does dry pretty quickly. I purchased it as a "dew drop" because I thought of that like a sample and I will most definitely get a larger pad as well. These dew drop sizes though actually work well with inking a stamp no matter the size. I colored the grapes in using Prismacolor markers. I used 3 colors of stickles: Starry Night (purple like), Cinnamon and Diamond. I just love the way it sparkles and was psyched that this photo came out pretty good. I mounted the image on Mellow Moss (Stampin Up) and use pop dots to add some dimension in person.

Announcing Grace......

Here she is Doodle Factory's Grace Girl. There are 4 available at Starving Artistamps, these gals are pretty cool. I stamped this image using Brilliance Graphite Black. I really like this ink it stamps so bold and beautiful. I colored Grace in using my Prismacolor and Copic markers. I am really starting to love both of these markers. I just need practice blending and shading.

I wanted to make this somewhat of a simple card because I didn't want to take away from the beauty of the image. My background is Stampin Up's Brillant Blue and Grace is on Yo Yo Yellow. The floral background paper is from a DCWV stack pack. I added some ribbon, fabric flower and glitter brad. I used pop dots to adhere Grace so in person she stands out on the card. The soft watermark image you see on the bottom is using another great new stamp from Starving Artistamps large silhouette flowers sheet. Starving Artistamps - New Images

Yesterday I received a bunch of new Starving Artistamp images from their new releases. Let me tell you they are AWESOME! I have to admit I was not sure of what their sizes would be like, but they are big and stamp beautifully. These first two I have to share are from the Tulips and Orchids sheet. Check out this flower......

I know it's the same card layout. Initially I stamped the flower a few times and decided to color them in using different colors. I cut both of them out and just ended up going with the same layout. At first I was not sure if I would share both because I like the pink one better, but then I figured why not show you guys both. They are both colored in with markers. I added some glitter to the middles. The background is of course using the Cuttlebug embossing folders and the pattern paper is from my DCWV stack packs.

Congrats Giants....

So it did push 60 degrees today but it was a bit rainy so it was a damp chill. However I did go out in my new GIANTS Tee! I'm not a huge football fan, but my DH is a huge Giants fan so it was so awesome to see them win and I actually enjoyed watching it. Yesterday he made it to the city to see the parade and said it was awesome.

Ok, this card is not Giants related but it turned out to be a cute spring time card. I used this chick I picked up at the dollar spot at Michaels. The base is Barely Banana by Stampin Up embossed using my Cuttlebug. The patterned paper is from DCWV.

Has anyone used the Fiskars Border punches? I got one on sale the other day and tried it and I had to stand on it to make it work. I actually wrote Fiskars and they said they would replace it. I was wondering what other experiences are with these guys. I love Fiskars cutting tools and have some punches so I didn't think it would be that hard to punch like some punches can be.

I used Stampin Up! Vanilla for the base of this card. The cuttlebug was used to create my embossed background. The great pattern paper is from a DCWV glitter pack. I created the great paper flowers using a flower punch from Marvy. The eyelets are Stampin Up's Rose Red, as is the pink paper and ink for the butterfly. I added stickles for the glitter.

Red Elephants.....

He's back..... Ok I brought out this great elephant from Starving Artistamps. I wanted to do something different and with it being the holidays and all I decided on RED. OK, maybe a little kooky but I think it's fun and like the way it turned out. What do you think? It's OK you can be critical if you want :-)

I used my handy dandy paper stacks from DCWV as background paper. The elephant was colored using markers (Sketch It markers by BIC, don't worry I did sign up for the Copic Marker club over at Gina K so maybe my coloring will slowly improve). The snowflake is actually an ornament. I picked up a pack of these in white and silver glittered of course! The sentiment "chillin'" is from MFT, Baby It's Cold Outside set. Finally, the Seasons Greetings is from Hero Arts.
