Elephant Fun - Starving Artistamps

This cute elephant is from Starving Artistamps. I wasn't' sure at first what to do with it. But I liked it. Got to coloring, found some animal print paper and viola! OK, fine the animal print may not be "elephant" print but who cares, it reminds me more of a safari look right?

I'm getting excited about it being my turn as Guest Designer for Starving Artistamps. It was such an honor to be chosen out of so many people. I hope I can do a good job, there are so many talented ladies on the actual design team as well as guest team! But I love their images so it should be fun and exciting. In the mean time I will continue working with the stamps I recently purchased. I think I need to try some quirky things with the elephant, maybe think outside the elephant box. Elephants don't have to be grey do they? My kids have a blue stuffed elephant! :-) Off I go to play, till later........

Sketch Challenge

I'm a few days late but here is my take on Lauren's weekly sketch challenge. I don't know what it was but at first I had a hard time. I think it's PMS kicking in because I was getting so mad! I have scraps all over now. Anyhow, in the end I think it came out ok. Let me know what you think.

Starving Artistamps

I received my Starving Artistamps order last week so I finally had a chance to play. I decided to start with these great butterflies. On this first one I used paper from Cosmo Cricket as the background. The pink paper is Stampin Up's Real Rose. I added some brads and of course my Ranger Stickles for glam. The cool flower is a fabric one but I'm not sure who makes it.

This second one I used Stampin Up's Olive Green and a turquoise paper. The background flowers is from a stack pack I got from Joannes and I added some vellum for shimmer. Once again Ranger Stickles adds sparkle.

HO HO HO

Yes I know that should read Gobble, Gobble, Gobble and my card should be an image of a Turkey. But i made this christmas card a few days ago. It's using this santa I had, which I purchased a few years ago at the Heirloom Productions show in Springfield, MA. Of course like with my previous flower stamp I don't know who made it :-( I had a few stamps from that show like this, that I am now trying to use. SOOO, if you happen to recognize it pls let me know. The holidays lights and sentiment are from Michael's dollar spot, Studio G. Finally I colored and added SPARKLE. Did I mention I love the Stickles by Ranger? :-) The little presents where also a dollar bin find as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Project

I've been working on a few cards for a friend of mine. She asked me to make some plain cards and some birthday cards. These are two of the plain ones. This first one I used a flower which I purchased a few years ago. I do not know whose flower it is. I got it unmounted at the West Springfield, Heirloom convention probably 3 or 4 years ago. At the time I didn't think of writing down all the great companies, I was a dope! Now I have a few of these images but no clue what company. If you recognize it let me know. The sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set.

This second card is using the wonderful Funky Floral set from Lizzie Anne Designs. The paper in this is from Cosmo Cricket and the background from Stampin Up. Of course in both cards I added Stickles glitter glue. Love that stuff!

Lizzie Anne Weekly Challenge

Each week at Splitcoast, LAD hosts a challenge. This week it was to use your scrap pieces of papers. Ok, at first I looked at the sketch and the samples and was like ohhh, I dont think I like this one. But I said NO it's a challenge so challenge yourself. I started gathering pieces and organizing according to the sketch. AND like what happens all the time, I loved doing it and loved how it turned out. Somehow I surprise myself everytime. I'm not saying it's the best piece of artwork, but I thought in the end it wasn't too bad. I was happy and I did enjoy making it. I think I may use the sketch again. I mostly like the middle scrap section where I used 4 pieces to make the square.
The set that I used is Christmas In the City. I love LAD stamps, they are all so cute, whimsical and just plan fun to play with. I still have a Valentine set I haven't even started playing with yet.

So here it is:

Time to catch up with a few tags:

The first one was from Courtney

You have to use your middle name:
A - Always be thankful for what you have
N - Never go to bed mad
N - Continue to learn New things.

The second one is from Gina:

1. If you could have 100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?
I would have to say paper. I love embellishments for sure but at least with paper you can do so much, like make your own cool embellishments.

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or ribbons, which would you choose?
Definitely Stamps!!! Love my stamps!!

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year…which would you do?
Cards

4. Would you rather own a scrap booking store or have your own scrapping room at home…(can’t have both he he he).
A stamping / scrapping oasis of my own!

5. What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style?
I've been asked this before and I never had a good answer and I still don't. Maybe I don't have a good word to describe it. I like to try different things.

Tag your it. You can use either tag.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the year....

Isn't it? Ok I know all the hustle and bustle and mean people, sometimes it does not seem like it is. But I LOVE Christmas and the season. Ok so how many of you are all done with shopping? I haven't even started to think about it yet. It's still early right? LOLOL

I decided to use my Sweet Seasons set from Stampin Up to make this cute card. I used Liquid Pearls to add the "snow" to the snowman and glitter (of course) to make his eyes sparkle. The sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michaels, Studio G.

Christmas in the City by LAD

I've been playing some with my christmas stamps from Lizzie Anne Designs. In the first one I used the adorable snowman. The scrap piece on the left is from a Christmas stack pack I purchased at Joannes. I added Ranger Stickles for sparkle. I have to say I love the stickles I have been using them on everything. Who doesn't like some sparkle?

This second card I also used LAD's Christmas in the City set. I took the wreath on a the door image, colored and again added my sparkle to it. I wasn't sure about using this image but i think this came out cute.

Sunday Shopping

Stopped off at Michael's and picked up a few Christmas stamps from the dollar bin. They didn't have too many though :=( They also had 70% off Halloween items and in that they had a Martha Stewart letter stamp set. I was able to get it for 2.99! I thought that was pretty good. The style of it is "Halloweenish" (can i use that word?:-)). Then I went back to my local stamp store and try again on getting ONE just ONE marker in brown. This time I had success and walked out with ONE marker and nothing else, impressed?

Now I'm off to Starving Artistamps to look at things. They have some great images so I may have to place an order soon.

All for now, I have some glitter drying, once finished I'll have some cards to post. And I have also been tagged by Courtney but I need to think about the answers! :-)

Weekend Stamping

I have two different cards to share. The first one is Shopping Chic :-) I went off to my local stamp store yesterday to pick up one brown marker to color my Turkey's with. So what happened more than $30 later? Well I found these two great stamps to start. They are both by Stampendous. The shopping chic is from the Fashion Friendzy line, I need to see what else they have in that line. The quote is from Purse-nally Yours. I actually had to stop myself on getting more purse stamps. I love purses, must have over 100! :) I remembered I had one purse stamp at home so for now that was good but HAD to have this quote! I also HAD to get 2 other markers, 2 stickles and another stamp. I think that's it, I don't even remember. My background stamp on Shopping Chic is French Script from Stampin Up.

This second creation is the Turkey set from Missy B Designs. This is the Turkey I wanted to get a brown marker for to color. For some reason nothing seemed to be working. So what happened with my new brown marker? NOTHING, I got the wrong color! Yes I know you are thinking how did that happened. I don't know. The cap looked like a nice brownish color and I thought I had tested it. Well, let me tell you I don't think I tested it and I didn't look at the color name which is Burnt Umber. Definitely does not sound like a Turkey color now does it? So in the end I didn't even get what I went for! I decided to stamp the turkey on light brown paper instead. I didn't really like it but decided to just go with it and see what happens. SO this is how it turned out. I added Ranger stickles which I thought turned out great. The background paper is from Cosmo Cricket. What do you think?

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

Here he is again. I love my Frosty! This stamp is from Serendipity stamps. The funky background paper is from a Christmas Stack pack I purchased at AC Moore. I thought the pinks in it were a little "nontraditional" but cool so I went with that color scheme. Added some pink Stickles glitter glue and a the glitter snowflake. I picked up a pack of these snowflakes in the Christmas Ornament dept of Michael's.

Lizzie Anne Designs - Weekly Challenge

This week's sketch was pretty simple but definitely great to work with. I love my new LAD stamps which I rec'd on Saturday. Very quick turnaround I was psyched!!!! The first card is the one for the Weekly Challenge. I used SU's white flock to make the snowman look "snowy".

This second card I made also using the Christmas in the City LAD set. This is a great set to play with. I used Stickles glitter glue to make it sparkle.

Weekly Challenge

Once again another week has gone by. I checked in on Lauren's blog for the Weekly Sketch Challenge. Since I rec'd my new Lizzie Anne Designs stamps yesterday I had to use them for this sketch. So the stamps are from LAD Christmas in the City set. The cool glitter snowflake I picked up at Michaels.
NEW CHALLENGE: Get out of those SNOWMEN stamps and accessories and make some cards. I love Snowmen for the holidays! Ok so it's not a big challenge but the challenge is to get the stamps out if they are hiding. :-) Use any snowmen from any companies and don't forget to include the SNOWFLAKES! I've already made quite a few snowmen cards, but I too will pull out any snowmen and snowflake stamps I have and make some more fun winter/holiday cards. I would love to see what you come up with.

Inkadinkado

How was your Halloween? Mine went well. I had a Spiderman and a Princess! We took them to the Halloween trick or treating in town earlier in the day then out at night. At 19 months they got the hang of it quickly, helping themselves to candy and letting themselves into peoples house! :-) It was alot of fun though. I used to love Trick or Treating so it's cool to be able to go again! :-)

I've been using my Inkadinkadoo stamps lately! There is a card contest at Jacksonbelle Embellishments. So it's been fun playing with these stamps I haven't used much. This first one is using a large Christmas stamp, I cut out images from it to create the card. Added some patterned paper, buttons and glitter! This second card is using the stamp Christmas stamp but taking one image from it. I used these large flowers I purchased from my local scrapbook store (sorry I don't know the make), again added Glitter (Ranger Sickles).

This third stamp is a cool collage stamp. I cut out the butterflies and separately colored them and added glitter (Stickles of course). I thought the "spotlighting" look cool! I mounted the entire image on paper. The ribbon and buttons added for embellishments.

Finally I used this cool dolpin stamp I purchased awhile ago. I LOVE dolphins, however I never found much to do with them. The cool background paper is from Cosmo Cricket.

Unity Stamp Co Tuesday Inspiration!

I'm up on the UNITY BLOG today sharing some cards I made using 2 stamp sets! I used the February background of the month called   as...
