This past Friday SCS had their mini VSN with a rodeo, wild wild west theme! In case you have never participated in one of these they are alot of fun. This week it was a called a mini VSN (virtual stamp night), so each hour on the hour from 5pm - 10pm a new challenge was posted in the forum. I got to be a hostess for this mini.
My challenge was to use the song "Wild Wild West" by Escape Club as inspiration. A few folks asked me why I did not use Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi because everyone who knows me even if just a little knows I LOVE Bon Jovi. OK, well I didn't because I don't' have any western themed stamped images but I have this great Unity stamp image created by Donna Downey that was perfect for the part of the song that goes "wild, wild hair":
I stamped the gingham which was a twist to my challenge, to add some gingham. I used the {ippity} stamp called Gurnsey Gingham.
If you love Unity you will love {ippity}. I am a Unity Endorsed {ippity} chick so come check out the kits I have in stock and if you are looking for something I don't have just let me know!
Come play along you have until tomorrow evening!
Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #95
Time for another fun challenge with JUST US GIRLS! This week's Lisa is our hostess with the mostess and she has challenged us to use fabric (ribbon does not count) on our projects!
Deadline to be considered for top pick, "Chic of the Week", is 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, August 4th. The Linky Tools form will close at that time. We will announce our "Chic of the Week" on the following Friday.
That's all for now!
Till later....
I have to confess I made this card a little while ago but never posted it because I submitted it to a publication call which did not get picked up. So I thought this would be the perfect time to share it.
Here I used Unity Stamps and papers from Cosmo Cricket (Material Girl). My solids are from Stampin Up. I stamped my Unity Cupcake pincushion image on a piece of red material twice and cut it out. I sewed them together and used some cotton balls on the inside to make it pillow like. I stamped the image one more time on pattern paper and cut out the bottom part and using fabric glue adhered it to the "pillow".

Friends with Flair Friday
It's Friday and time for another fun Friends with Flair Unity Style!
This week I have another fun canvas board creation to share with you. SO, not too long ago I found this awesome pack of napkins at a discount store:
Isn't this awesome! As soon as I saw them I said I had to have them. SO, I took one and separated it from it's 2nd ply (you know 2 ply napkins)and using Mod Podge adhered it down to a piece of canvas board which I had painted in a nice light blue (acrylic paints).
I was so thrilled with how it turned out. Those images in the napkin are just amazing. My stamped sentiment is of course from Unity Stamp Co. The lovely flower is from Webster's Pages.
Here is a close up:
The birdie on the bottom is dimensional! I used a piece of Tim Holtz Grunge board and cut it to the shape of the bird and adhered the "napkin" bird image to the cut out piece with my awesome Mod Podge again! (LOVE THAT STUFF!) Adhered it right over the same bird for some amazing dimension. Along the edges I used some Liquitex Acrylic inks.
I actually hung this one up in my hallway but I'm actually thinking I need a larger piece there so I'm going to make one just like this but on a 6 x 12 piece of canvas board. This one is (I think) 5 x 7.
Well that's all for now! If you love Unity you will also love {ippity} be sure to check out my {ippity} stamps in my Etsy shop TYKATSUPPLIES.
Tonight is the Splitcoast Stampers Mini VSN with a Rodeo theme! I'm hosting a challenge at 10pm! The action starts at 5pmEST with the first challenge!

Summer Bliss with a Slice of Orange
It's time for the 2nd challenge with "Challenges by AR". In case you are not familiar, AR Creations is an awesome template store by the fabulous Adela. She has recently started a challenge blog for her amazing templates. Every few weeks a new challenge is posted and you will have a chance to win a prize! Come play with us in 3D! Swing on by CHALLENGES BY AR for all the details!
This week our host Lyn has challenged us to create a summer 3D project using this theme: "Summer Bliss with a Slice of Orange". Doesn't that just sound relaxing?
I used Creations by AR's template called Tray Chic. I paired it with a matching card using {ippity} Stamps.
Here are some close ups:
This tray is the cutest thing ever. So I have to cut out all my templates by hand because I don't have the software to do that. So forgive the black lines in this creation but in real life you can hardly see them, it's adorable!! Check out the pom poms! That is a "ribbon" from Stampin Up which I just adore! My pattern paper is actually old and I believe from the Target dollar spot a few years ago, if you can believe that! The flowers are paper ones from Prima. I used some shredded paper inside and put some candles in. I thought of this because I have a Partylite candle tray like this so I thought this tray would love cute with candles in it.
Here is a close up of my card using the {ippity} kit called: New Season, New Wonder. I was going for a different look with this card. So I used some mulberry papers underneath, added the pom poms to match the tray. I stamped the orange slices using a few colors of Memento Dew Drops and then added stardust stickles to it for the glitzy shine. It reminds me of those sugar coated fruity slices. In the background I stamped the orange image using Faber Castell gelatos and water!
Well that's all for now! Be sure to swing on by the Challenges by AR blog for all the challenge details on how you can play along and you don't want to miss what the design team cooked up! Go ahead and leave them all some love!

Just Us Girls Fun with Color
It's color challenge week with Just Us Girls and Andrea has challenged us with amazing colors: Coral, Blush and Grey.
Here is what I came up with using using the You & Me Coffee Fairy image from Queen Kat Designs:
My coral and blush are from SU and the grey I had in my stash I think it's by Bazzill. The twine in my buttons (which are random from my stash) is from the Twinery.

Unity Friends with Flair Friday
It's Friday and time for another Friends with Flair Friday! Be sure to swing on by the Unity Blog to see who else is participating!
This week I have a mixed media canvas to share with you using a Suzi Blu image.
Close ups:
This creation was done on an 8 x 10 canvas using the Chickadee Suzi Blu stamp as well as {ippity} stamps! My bird is a Sizzix die that I picked up at Michael's on clearance for 4.99! I added Rock Candy distress crackle paint to it but the photo didn't capture it very well. I also used stickles on her wings and on the flowers for the birdie!
If you are an {ippity} fan I have lots of fun kits listed in my Etsy shop TYKAT SUPPLIES.
Looking for something I don't have listed just let me know. New release coming August 5th!

Challenges by AR - First Challenge Celebration!!!
I was thrilled when Adea (owner of Creations by AR) contacted me about being on her Challenge Blog Design Team! Of course I said yes and here we are July 7th with our first of many fun template challenges. Once every 3 weeks a new challenge will be posted with one of the design team members as a hostess for that week.
Let's get this party started! This week our challenge is "WILD PRINTS". Ok of course I thought of animal prints right away probably because I had a couple of animal print papers sitting on my stack of scrapbook papers waiting to be filed with the rest! PERFECT! So I went with the A Wallet Just for Him as my first template! BUT REALLY does it HAVE to be just for him??? I don't think so! Let me tell you I actually (ok laugh) use a man's wallet because it's easier to hold all the darn cards. Credit cards, gift cards, store cards, biz cards etc...... KWIM?
Here is what I came up with:
Inside:
I love this template. I went simple with this but I can see using this again creating it with all sorts of fun papers! I used {ippity} stamps on this creation, from the My True Joy kit and the You Deserve kit.
Be sure to stop on by the Challenges by AR Design team, this is one serious group of ladies!
Vicki Garrett Maria Levine Magdalena Cortez Lyn Bernatovich Lori Tecler Lisa Somerville Lisa Eisner Adela Rossol
HOW YOU CAN WIN:Leave a comment on our new blog beginning July 7th to be eligible. One lucky person will be chosen from each day (July 7 - July 14) to receive a new template not yet released.
Participate in the challenge and for each project submitted, you'll receive a $1 Gift Certificate for Creations by AR.
There will be one winner at the end of the challenge from those who participated in submitting their projects. They will receive two templates of their choice from Creations by AR
Well that's all for now!
Till later......
