Friends with Flair Friday
It's Friday and time for another friends with flair! I'm currently taking some of Christy Tominlinson's online classes. I love her style and it's just fun watching all the videos. I've taken many and I think I have the hang of her techniques but I love the idea of a new "lesson" being posted each week and new videos to watch. Just a little something fun to look forward to. Her classes are open for a year once you sign up which is fabulous as well. This week the Wild Art oAbandonment 2 started. You can find out more about her classes on her blog HERE.
Anyhow here is a pumpkin I made on 6x12 canvas board from the last class called Pumpkins & Cider.
Here is my pumpkin guy:
I used all Unity Stamps on this guy for texture in the background. I love making art like this and working in art journals.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet n' Sassy Stamps Sketch Challenge
Hey there! This week I played along with the Sweet n' Sassy Stamps sketch challenge. I was asked to make a card for someone my husband works with for an 8 year old who is having a "makeup" type party. I used Girly Girl Cookie for this card.
First here is the sketch:
Here is my card:
I had makeup themed papers in my stash by DCWV that are perfect for this. And what's better than pink and purple for an 8 year old girl. Then of course I HAD to make the nail polish red glitter nail polish! I guess I didn't go with the spin specifically but you can say movies are glamorous and this mouse sure is!

This week over at Stamping With the Oldies we are going with a Halloween theme. While cleaning my stamping area today I came across some stamps from Outlines that were brand new and never inked! 2 of them are Halloween stamps so of course I used it for this week's challenge.
I used some old halloween paper in my stash and fibers which I haven't used in forever!
Go look in your stash and I'm sure you will find something that is suitable for Halloween that hasn't been used in a long time!

Just Us Girls Color Challenge
Marissa is our hostess this week for Just Us Girls and it's color challenge week. Check out these wonderful colors:
Elise
For this I pulled out some new Christmas paper I got from Websters Pages. I tried to grab colors that are very similar to our colors here. Maybe not 100% exact but I think comes close enough.
Be sure to swing on by the JUGS DT blogs for great inspiration:

Dolphin Love
I love Dolphins. I'm not a swimmer or big fan of the beach or anything but for some reason years ago I fell in love with dolphins. Before I had kids running around I had dolphins things all over. I used to collect dolphin knick knacks etc.
So when I saw this image Maigan Lynn created for Queen Kat Designs with included a dolphin I was in heaven!
Meet Nami:
Here is a simple card I made using this great image:
Be sure to check out all the great images over at Queen Kat Designs!

Stamping With The Oldies - Mixed Media Fun
Have you been checking out Stamping With the Oldies? There are lots of fun projects daily to inspire you to use what you have in your stash! Use that paper you have sitting there hoarding!
I love to work on mixed media on canvas and in journals. I have been inspired by the art and classes of Christy Tominlinson and Melody Ross. Today I have a project created on an 8x10 canvas board.
This is using papers I found in my stash I totally forgot about. I know I purchased it a while ago it's a Melody Ross paper pack. I think I got it at Joannes but never used it. All the images I used including the words are from this paper pack.
There is alot of stamping texture on this as well. On the left I used a Tim Holtz stamp which I had never inked up! I also used some old Unity on it as well. Above the word "She" is a metal SU brad I found in my stash which I hot glued to the board.
Be sure to head on over to Stamping With the Oldies!

Sweet Stamp Shop Fun
At one point I was into making small plaques out of bathroom tiles. When I received new stamps from the Sweet Stamp Shop - Under the Sea set I knew I wanted to make one with them.
Here is what I came up with:
Very simple way to create a small fun decoration. My daughter loves mermaids so she likes this one.
Be sure to check out The Sweet Stamp Shop and all the stamps they have. A new release is coming soon as well!
Till later!

Paper Smooches Challenge
This week is sketch challenge time at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge called Designer Drafts Challenge.
Here is the sketch:
Here is how I interpreted the sketch:
When I first looked at the sketch I saw 2 sides which made me think of two types of paper with a triangle on the bottom. I went with Christmas papers for fun so it can be a generic holiday card. I decided to add buttons to the top just because. The pattern papers are from My Mind's Eye and I used two paper smooches sets called: Chubby Chums and Perpetual Bliss.
This is one of the cards I am going to submit for their DT call as well, fingers crossed!
Well that's all for now!

Welcome to the 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 9! If you arrived from Emily's blog then you are on the right track!
Today the theme is CUTE HALLOWEEN! I decided to use the newly released image by Maigan Lynn called Nami:
This can go into the cute category right? I went with traditional Halloween colors but I think it keeps it cuteness!
Be sure to go on this fun hop! If you get lost head on over to the QKD BLOG to start the hop from the top!

Woodsy Fun
Happy World Card Making Day!
It's time for another Just Us Girls Sketch challenge this week.
This week I played along with the Paper Smooches Trend Watch challenge. Check out this great inspiration for the challenge:
Using Chubby Chums here is what I came up with:
For the Paper Smooches challenge I went with some of the colors which gives it a woodsy feel along with the owls I think it works. This is going to be one of the cards I submit for the DT call as well.

Friends with Flair Friday
TGIF! This week for Friends with Flair Unity Style I have a mixed media canvas to share with you. I recently signed up for Christy Tominlinson's new online classes and the first one was called Cider and Pumpkins! Lots of great ideas for Halloween and the fall!
Here is my take on one of her lessons making pumpkins this is an 8 x10 canvas
This is done with a painted background I used a Crafters Workshop stencil in there as well. The pumpkins are made from different types of paper. The stem is burlap which I sprayed with a green ranger spray. The leaves is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co as well as any other stamps you may see. I used lots of different Unity Stamp backgrounds on the canvas. On the big pumpkin it says "Harvest of Memories". The title "fall" in white is a rub on that I had in my stash for sometime.
Be sure to check out Unity's New and improved website. It's looking great and I know they are still working on it. Yesterday there was a Phyllis Harris release which looks wonderful. Tomorrow is World Card Making Day and there will be lots going on at Unity for that!
When ordering please pick me as your chick! But for now while the site is being updated put my name Maria Leine in the comments section when ordering, I would greatly appreciate it!
Till tomorrow!

Stamping with the Oldies
This week I for my Stamping with the Oldies challenge I inked up a My Favorite Things stamp that I have had in my stash forever but NEVER inked.
I made a tag using this cute girl:
I cut out the tag on white cardstock. The background pink paper is an old Stampin Up pad I had and the 2nd layer of pattern paper was a random piece in my stash. I paper pieced her dress and the mushroom and added stickles to her wand and wings.
Come on over to Stamping with the Oldies and get inspired by using your stash of stamping stuff!
Till later!
