Unity Friends With Flair

Hey there!  TGIF!

This morning I had nothing to post for UNITY FWF and wanted to.  So I decided to do a little art journaling.  My thought (this was from the other day) is to get back doing some art journaling on a smaller level.  I had a "sketch" book on hand that was size 4x6 and the other day I used some stamps to create a 2 page spread in that book.  I covered the outside cover and decided I would make that book exclusive to the stamps of that line I used which was MFT.  Then I thought oh I can just turn this book around and open it from the back and make that for Unity!

Ok so well in the end I got a second 4x6 book that I will dedicate for art journaling using Unity Stamps.  It will be a place to experiment as well.

This is the book I get my journals from Jerry's Artarama there is one local to me which is great.

Ok so here is the page I just did and it only took a few minutes!

I took a few pics along the way to share as well:

Great way to see how awesomely HUGE Unity Stamps are it's too big for this page.

I wanted to color the butterfly but didn't want to really spend time coloring.  I used a water brush and dipped it into my spray - Lindy Stamp Gang's Spray - and colored with that!  Works great and gives a water color look.  It's also a fast way to add color.

All colored and the sprays I used to color with.

I use matte gel to adhere and seal my projects

A SU stencil to add some subtle hearts over the project

I hope you enjoyed this fun and simple project!  If you are a card maker and wonder about art journaling I say start small because you are used to small from making cards.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Maria

Oh my goodness! I love your page and LOVE your idea of little journals dedicated to different stamp companies for journaling! I found you on Unity's Friday Friends With Flair. http://theunitystampco.blogspot.com/2015/01/friday-friends-with-flair-linky.html

This is amazing and awesome and beautiful!!! I am so inspired. Truly. I need to study your fairly simple techniques and see if I can adapt them to supplies I have on hand and give art journaling a try. I like the idea of doing it on a small format like this. Much less scary to me. Saw you on FWF. TFS!!!
