Treehouse Stamps Thursday Challenge

It's Thursday and another fun challenge in the Treehouse.

This week's DT spotlight is on Anne Harmon and she challenged us to a color challenge: Red, White and Pink. I decided to use some of THS digi paper and the cupcake from the Cupcake Hearts and Dreams digi set.

Here is what I pulled together for this challenge:

I decided not to go with a card so I made a little layout on this chipboard album page. Awhile ago I purchased a bunch of these great albums at Michael's in the dollar spot.

Come on by and hang with us in The Treehouse Workshop. And if you play along there is a Mr Linky for linking on the Treehouse blog.

Then you will want to head on over to the Treehouse DT to see what they cooked up for this challenge.

That's it for now!

Thanks for stopping by.

My Favorite Things - Guest DT Contest

I decided to submit for this month's My Favorite Things Guest DT contest, the theme is "Think Spring". With all this cold weather this is an awesome theme to work with. I decided to use the "Happy Mother's Day" set. This stamp is now available as a digi stamp, how cool is that?

Here is my project:

I also wanted to show some other photos of the project:

Here is just the card:

I used lovely pattern paper by Memory Box and paper pieced the flower pot on all pieces of this project using Basic Grey. Dew drops adorn this card in the corners. And stickles (my favorite embellishement) gives the flowers a little sparkle!

The other "piece" of this project is a little wooden box that I got at Michael's. I painted it and put some pink pattern papers on the sides. On the lid I used the awesome Mother's Day image but layered it up. Inside I put a magnet that I made (using a bathroom tile) using the same image:

The magnet is layered with some crystal lacquer for sealing and an awesome shine.
I have to say I had a blast making this little Mother's Day gift set for this challenge. I love when you can put together a project and it comes together nicely just the way you wanted.

Organize it: Stamp TV Kit

From the last Gina K release I purchased the Stamp TV kit. It's the first Stamp TV kit I have. I love Gina K and do have many of her sets but had not purchased any of the kits until now.

WELL, I have to tell you these kits rock!! No joke! You get so much in it it's fabulous and well worth it! If you are new to stamping or new to Gina K it's the thing to get.

I took some pictures of mine to show you some stuff. The current kit is called organize it.
Here is everything sort of laid out a bit. You get 25 sheets of pure luxury cardstock (the best cardstock there is). Two different sizes of ribbon. Each size comes with about a yard of a different ribbon. Also included are some sateen flowers and brads. Gina K coordinates the colors with the kit being released. I think what you get in each kit is pretty standard with regards to the amount in each kit but like I said this is the first kit I got.

SO I got started on a project and I'll admit it I was going to go with one of the Stamp TV challenges this week which was to "wrap it". Of course when I got started my creation just went in a different direction, so I didn't meet all the requirements for that challenge. But I still wanted to share what I made.

Gina K has also started releasing templates and in the last release she had these cute little boxes, so I got the one called Perfect Flower Box. I had a cute little chocolate flavored candle to package so here is what I came up with using my new template and Stamp TV kit called organize it

Just Us Girls Wild Card Challenge

It's Saturday and that means another challenge with Just Us Girls! This week our lovely hostess is Dana and since it's wild card week our challenge is to make a pennant banner. You can find an awesome, very simple tutorial for this at splitcoast stampers HERE.

Here is what I came up with for my banner:

Trying to get a good picture of this was hard, I hope that you can see it ok. The gumball machines on the ends are images by Sew Many Cards. I used chipboard letters for the word "Love". I painted them in red and added SU Dazzling Diamonds while the paint was wet. The ribbon on top is a twill and I added some buttons for accents. My pattern paper is from last year or maybe the year before from Target. I'm not a fan of the little puffy hearts I put in the middle but I tried to remove one and it tore the paper a bit so I just left them as is. it's funny how things seem so different in pictures. In person I think this looks much better.

While I was working on my pennant my kids wanted to make their own so I have to share their versions as well, which I think are much better than my own! :-)

Tyler wanted to make one in the Mets colors:

Kaitlyn is totally into it and made a few, here are two that I took pictures of:

Here is a close up (opened):

And here is what the little notepad I made looks like inside:

I just used regular printer paper and just cut some up. This little folder started out to be a little card but then I thought "Hey these are shopping images, this box needs a little notepad!"
