December 31 day Challenge!

 Happy Sunday!!!  In December I decided to participate in Doodlewash's month long prompt inspired challenge.  They host monthly challenges with a prompt for each day of the month.  Most folks are using watercolors to create their art as the site is mainly a watercoloring site. However their challenges do say Draw/Paint soooo I went with drawing using graphite only.  

I did do all 31 days of December in a small dedicated sketchbook and to make it easier to share created this video:

I used various references from googling ideas online or in some cases went with my own intuition.  I love to draw and am inspired to consistently practice to get better.  But most of all have a blast playing around.

It's been a hot minute since I've posted here and few crazy years later and I thought I'd come back.  I wanted to start sharing more card creations again as well as art creations.

I am still a part of the amazing Unity Stamp Co design team since 2016!  It's an amazing stamp company with a great group of woman (& man).   To kick off this new year the head of the Design Team did a great feature of all the DT members on the Unity Show & Tell facebook page.  This is a page where all those who love and us Unity share their creations. 

Here is my feature:

Covid threw a few wrenches in my card making since my hubby was working from home he was now full time in the office where my card making supplies are.  To move all that some where else wasn't going to happen.  So I didn't get to make cards as much as I would have liked. 

I decided to leave Just Us Girls during that time because I couldn't commit to once a week at that point.  I loved being on that team and those girls are amazing. 

During this strange time I started painting in journals and following 2 amazing artists Tracey Weinzapfel and Alisa Burke.  Then early last year I reignited my passion to continue to draw (something which I have always done since I was a little girl) when I found Karen Campbell of Awesome Art School.  

I thought now might be a fun time to start this blog up again and get some posts going sharing all these crafty things I love!!

Just Us Girls - Wild Card Week

 

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another Just Us Girls challenge.  Sadly this will be my last with the team.  I've been here for 595 challenges since the very beginning.  I never planned on leaving the team but it's hard to make cards.  While I will not stop stamping and making cards but COVID and everyone home and still home has made it difficult for card making.  My hubby works from the office which is where all my stamping supplies are.  So since the beginning of all this I have resorted to the kitchen table and went back to drawing and art journaling since it's less supplies. I usually try to sneak a card in at night or weekends.  

Anyhow, I picked a good challenge to end on which is Anything But a Card!  This week I picked up a art journal at my local art supply store and it's a 7x7, pretty cool size actually.  I immediately wanted to play in it and here are two pages I was able to create in the last few days from my kitchen table :-)

This first one is using paints from Deco Arts, Posca Pens, Stencil from Recollections and a Dare 2B Artzy stamp set by Tracy Weinzapfel. 

This second one started with Dina Wakley gloss sprays, Posca pens and a shimmer paint by Deco Arts. All the flowers are hand drawn reason why they are so wonky! LOL! But overall in the end I liked how it came out wonky and all!  

Anyhow it's been a fantastic run with Just Us Girls!  All the best to the team in the future!! Hugs to all!
