Mothers & Daughters Weekly Challenge

Thursday is the day each week the design team of Mothers & Daughters Creations has a challenge. It seems like time is flying by so fast I can't believe it's August already! This week it is sketch challenge fun. I decided to use some awesome summer papers by Bo Bunny and a stamp by Outlines.
I love the Outline stamps they are so cool. This one is a collage stamp so there are so many possibilities. I decided to use the shell and beach ball. The entire image was stamped twice and I colored in using Copic Markers. I cut out the part of the collage I wanted to use and layered them so it's dimensional and pops up. Of course for me it's not complete until it sparkles, so I added Stickles. The solid brown is Stampin Up Chocolate Chip and the green is Stampin Up Wild Wasabi. Then I headed to the garage to find something else I thought it would need. I thought ribbon wouldn't cut it, I wanted something a little more "rugged" so I used this twine.

Well I think that's it for now! Be sure to swing by the Mothers & Daughters Creations Challenge Blog to see what the entire design team has done. We would love it if you want to play along with the challenges and be sure to post a link to the Challenge Blog so we can see what you created! Also you will want to swing by the personal blogs of the design team as well: Cindy, Jennifer, Linda, Lynda and Tamara.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dare to get Dirty

Have you seen all the awesome challenges for "Dare to get Dirty" this year? I only participated in one! I know I really wanted to do more but I just didn't have time this week. I wanted to share one that I made for one of the sketch challenges.

Let's chat about adhesive shall we? We all have loads of it. I'll bet some have drawers full of different kinds from glue sticks to tape to mono adhesive. I usually reach for my ATG gun which I love. Then I received some Stampers Magic Tape to try out! This stuff is really cool especially when working with small images you need to stick down. Using the ATG works great but it's rather clumsy for little tiny things and images. With this tape you just peel off a bit stick your image on cut around and then peel off the back. Best part (for me at least) if you put your sticky image down and then say "oops" it's not in the right place you can pick it up without injuring your paper. This awesome tape is available at Starving Artistamps. Check out this tutorial here...

That's it for now! Stay tuned for more chat about this awesome new adhesive. Don't forget Thursday is Mothers & Daughters Creations challenge day.

Sketch Challenge Fun

As you probably know Lauren posts a sketch challenge every Saturday and has been for almost a year now! Wow time sure does fly. Which reminds me I am coming up on my one year of blogging as well! WOO HOO! Maybe some blog candy soon?

Here is Lauren's sketch from this Saturday. A very very super cool sketch. I was a little ambitious this weekend with this sketch so I have two samples.

First I made a card using this sketch. I pulled out my Unity Stamps and used a flower from the Floral Fantastical Kit. My colored solid papers are SU and the pattern one is from a DCWV stack pack. I'll be totally honest I'm not sure which purples these are from SU, I want to say one is Orchid Opuluance. I used ribbon (American Crafts) for the upper middle part of the sketch. I colored this flower with Copics and added stickles to the leaves for glitter. I used my trusty partner in "crime" the cuttlebug. Lauren have I thanked you recently for telling me I NEEDED the cuttlebug! I say it all the time it was the best gift ever! (rec'd from DH last Christmas) Ok I'll stop now!

Then I was looking at this awesome sketch and a recent stamp I purchased by Rubber Stampede. I actually found it on clearance and liked it, then I stamped with it and colored it in and now I love it. Here is why.....

Isn't this angel beautiful? I love it. First off I flipped the sketch. Then I stamped her and colored with Copics. I used my Spica glitter pens to add glitter to her wings and horn, not sure how well it shows in this picture. My pattern papers are by Basic Grey and for the little flowers I punched out from black cardstock and added a bling sticker in the middle. I put this gal in a frame instead of making a card. I thought this would make a nice "picutre" in the house.

I have some fun and exciting news to share with you. Lauren has decided to have a group who will use her sketch each week. We all know her creations are beyond amazing, but she wanted to have other people's take on her sketches as well. Great idea huh? And guess what? I get to be a part of that!! WOO HOO! I'm psyched it should be fun. Lauren is such an awesome inspiration to all stampers and she is so super sweet as well. Thanks Lauren!

If I left something out or have any questions please let me know. Well that's it for now! Tomorrow I will have to brag about a great adhesive product I've had a chance to try, so stay tuned....

Thanks for stopping by!

Make a Wish!

This is my card for the circle challenge at Gina K in the SCS forum. During the release party the other night there were a few card challenges posted so far I did the circle one. This challenge was to make a circle card or use circles as the focus. I used the Make A Wish set for this.
This is going to be a short post it's been a super long day. We took the kids to a friends pool and it was the first time they went "swimming" but they loved it. They definitely need to learn to swim as I never did and don't like the water much. Although I'll admit I do like going to the pool just not in the deep end! As long as I can stand without going under it's fine. :-) I am actually pretty good at holding my breathe and swimming underwater. But it was a really fun time but very tiring! I want to stamp but I may actually call it a night soon!
I'll be back tomorrow with some more challenges to post. Lauren had a super fantastic sketch today and maybe I'll get some more of the Dirty Dare '08 challenges done! Over at Our Creative Corner the challenge this week is Christmas In July! Now that is always a fun challenge!

It's a Hoot...

This is my first creation using the July
kit of the month - "It's the Little Things" from Unity Stamps. The kit of the month sets are limited sets and are available only during their release month then gone forever! How cute are these owls? I decided to do the Joy Fold card by Beate Johns the tutorial was posted this past Wednesday on SCS here... I love these fold and flap type cards.
This cool looking patterned paper (Memory Keepers) I actually picked up at Marshalls! They had a bunch of scrapbooking supplies there real cheap of course! This came as a pack and I was not sure what else was in the pack. Actually it was this same pattern and about 30 sheets of it! LOLOL!! Well, it might come in handy for fall designs.

I heat embossed the frame, owls and mushroom. The striped paper is Basic Grey and the solid papers are Stampin Up!

Here is the inside of this "joy fold" card:

I know it turned out a bit plain on the inside but not too bad. The tree and sentiment are also by Unity from their ecoChic kit.

Today I joined the SCS Fan Club FINALLY! SO I have been checking out all that great stuff and starting playing in the Dirty Dare '08! Woo Hoo!! Where you at the release party for Gina K last night? I popped in and out but saw the new sets, OMG how awesome are they! I love them and need to get an order in ASAP!

Well that's it for now!

Mothers & Daughters Weekly Challenge

This week it was a sketch challenge / Bo Bunny challenge. Here is the awesome sketch that Lynda created for us to use:

My thought was to use the large rectangle to "showcase" a cool paper by Bo Bunny and the circle for a stamped image. Here is what I came up with:

I started with SU Wild Wasabi, I thought that matched nicely with the green in the paper. The blue paper that has the swiss dot cuttlebug is also by Bo Bunny as is the white polka dot piece in the upper right. This floral image is by Serendipity. I colored using Copics and added Stickles then punched out and placed on a piece of Wild Wasabi punched with the SU scallop punch. The sentiment is by Imagainisce. Have you checked out this line of clear stamps yet? They are super cool! The cool little brads on the left are I believe by Making Memories. I had them in my stash and the do have a green gem in the middle, sorry it does not show clearly in this picture. I think that covers it. If I missed something pls always feel free to let me know.

This was a fun sketch! Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog as well as the other members of the design team: Cindy, Jennifer, Linda, and Tamara. We would love for you to play along, be sure to link your creations to the Challenge blog for a chance to win this awesome Bo Bunny Prize package:

Unity Scrapbook Challenge

Here is my take on this week's scrapbook sketch in the Unity Forum. Check out the sketch here.. This page uses 3 Unity Kits: Floral Fantastical (butterfly) and Beach Day and Little Labels 2. I used glitter on the "happiness" sentiment. It was my cool glitter and glitter pen by Bo Nash that I picked up at a stamp show in June. I colored the shell with Copics and added light pink stickles. Sorry if the picture does not show all the shine and glitter very well I think I had lighting issues on this one. For the background I used the Distressed Background Unity Stamp! They were on back order and I just received it the other day, it rocks!

Well that's all I have for now!

It's Hula Time

How funny but cute is this little guy? This is a part of the DoodleFactory Tropics at Starving Artistamps. He just cracks me up. It was really cool because a few weeks ago I went to a stamp show and got to meet Tracey of Starving Artistamps. Super nice, but poor thing was feeling under the weather that day. While there I finally (I know I don't know what took me sooo long) picked up some of these awesome DoodleFactory guys. I will definitely have to get more! I colored him up with Copics and added stickles to the skirt and lei.

The sketch that I used is Lauren's Saturday sketch here. I had this guy all colored and glittered up so I thought he'd be perfect for her sketch. I didn't use the circle or sentiment though but added the little flowers instead. The base is SU Wild Wasabi and the awesome patterned paper is from the Obscure pack by Basic Grey. The little "gems" are The Robin's Nest jewels. I picked up two bottles at the stamp show as well but I apologize I forget which vendor it was.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Check out these little guys aren't they adorable? I picked this stamp up while at a stamp convention it is by Stamp Oasis.

This week at Our Creative Corner the challenge is to dry emboss! I love embossing using my Cuttlebug. I received my cuttlebug last Christmas and it was the BEST Christmas gift ever because I use it ALL the time. I think every project I make has to use my CB. Anyhow, if you have not checked out the OCC challenge blog you must, it's fantastic!
I colored these little guys using Copics/Prismacolor markers. Used stickles on the cupcake and cherries and white liquid pearls for the frosting. The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey two scoops pack and the solid papers from SU.

That's it for now. I'm off to see the new Batman movie. This weekend DH and I are getting out a little bit to celebrate my 35th birthday! Woo hoo! Wow, I remember being 20 and thinking someone who was 35 was OLD! Oh how times change!

Have you seen any peeks into CHA? Here is one site I found that has some awesome peeks into the new Basic Grey packs. Check it out here.... If you know of any links to CHA chatter I would love to hear about it.

Gotta run! Thanks for stopping by!

Lizzie Anne Birthday Bash!

Lizzie Anne is celebrating their 2nd birthday!! They have a bunch of new sets coming out and all the ones I've seen so far are awesome! Get ready for Fall and Winter! For their birthday bash they have a few cool things going on. One is a sketch challenge where there is a chance to win all the sets to be released! Can you believe that? How cool is that? Here is my card I created for the sketch challenge I used sketch #1. For this I used Basic Grey paper (Two Scoops). I colored the cupcakes with Copics and added stickles then cut them out. The entire middle panel is all on pop dots, so it all stands out.

They are having a customer blog hop going on today! I signed up so I'm sharing some of my LAD creations with you past and present. Here is a one I made yesterday to share using the Far East set. My background papers for this one is by Basic Grey the Boxer pack. I embossed my lanterns. In person they look fab, but I realized in the photo the colors blend a little too much with the papers, but everything was stuck down and done so I didn't want to mess it all up. I still like it though. The sketch is for SC185 at Splitcoaststampers.

Here are a few other LAD cards I made and posted awhile ago. The original posts are as follows: hey cupcake card, ballerina and poppin flowers you can find the details in those posts.

Thank you for stopping by.

MDC Weekly Challenge

Every Thursday is challenge day with the girls from Mothers & Daughters Creations. Each week we have a challenge and this week is was to use our nestablities and have fun with. I decided to make a little set of notecards and a little holder for them all cut out from the large scalloped circle nesties set. This is my complete set.

The butterfly papers are by
SEI and the others are by Basic Grey from the Sugared Collection. The brown is Stampin Up chocolate chip. The little "hello" sentiment is by Scenic Route it's part of a cute little set called Thanks.
Now for some close ups. I used some cool bling blings and pearly things on these cards. I also used some stickles (I had to!) on the large patterned butterfly.

Here are all 4 cards only:
Next we have a close up to show you the awesome little pearls I've attached on the two small flowers.

Here is yet another close up showing you some bling on the little heart in this one:

Finally, here is my close up of the holder which I made from the nesties and used ribbon by Bo Bunny on the top and sides to hold it close.
I think that covers it for this week's challenge! I had fun playing with the nesties and the great papers and bling from MDC! Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog to check out the creations of all the DT members listed in one spot. But don't forget all these gals have fantastic blogs so be sure to swing by their blogs to say hello as well - Cindy, Jennifer, Lynda, Tamara.

Chilly Willy

Since it's 90 degrees I thought this little penguin would help cool things off! Isn't he the cutest? This is from the Unity Kit called Jolly Little Winter.

I started with SU Mellow Moss and embossed with the snowflake folder for the cuttlebug. The awesome patterned paper in the middle is some old Basic Grey (I think from last year?) called Fruitcake. I love it, I love the how it's a bit faded. I mounted that on red cardstock (source unknown) and added a velvet ribbon across. I used my circle nesties to cut the penguin out and the red circle. The sentiment is also from this kit. Ok, so I HATE the heat but I don't really want snow either. Fall, now that is a nice season!

Now check out the penguin! I colored him in with Copics and added stickles to his feet, nose and headband. But for his flippers and earmuff I used FLOCK! I love this stuff. I know it's been around but I always just had the white SU flock. Recently I found some at a scrapbook store and was psyched. I love how it turned out on the penguin and it worked soo nice! The flock I used is by Doodlebug Designs and I also picked up some in pink by Stampendous. I see a new craze coming one for me! Sparkle, Bling and Fluff oh what fun! LOLOL!!! Here is a close up of this little guy:
Well that's all I have for you now. Off I go to work on some more creations to share. I'm getting geared up for a birthday weekend, getting old I tell you. OK, well not that old 35 years young! And I told DH all I want is ice cream cake and money to buy stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blushing Bride on the 4th of July

I know the 4th has passed but an awesome challenge is still going on at Clear & Simple Stamps, are you ready to take the challenge. Make any project using your Clear & Simple Stamps and be entered to win. Check here for all the details.

The design team has a little challenge of their own going on as well. We were challenged to make a 4th of July themed card using any one of the awesome Darlings. I decided to make a very nontraditional wedding card and use the I Do Darling. For this project I decided to use the gate fold type of card. Here is the outside of my card.

I used paper I picked up at the Target dollar spot and my flowers from the bridal section at Michael's. I colored the flowers with red and blue copic markers and added some red ribbon (source unknown) to hold the "gates" closed.

Here is the inside of the gate card to reveal the I Do Darling. I first colored her in using Copic markers and used lots of stickles glam it up a bit. Of course had to add more of those awesome Copic colored flowers and the sentiment from the set. I used SU dimensionals to adhere her to the inside so there is a bit of depth to it.
.
Check out the close up of the darling below, which shows all the great glitter.

So hop to it and check out the challenge. I hope you can play, let me know if you do.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to get a bit more play time this week and have some Unity samples and samples from some really cute images I picked up this weekend while at a stamp show.

Thanks for stopping by!

Treehouse Stamps Challenge

Last night I stopped by the party for the Treehouse Stamps release. There was some chichat and challenges going on. I decided to participate in the sketch challenge. Unfortunately I missed out on some chichat because I went off to creat this card for the challenge. I got it posted by the 11:30pm deadline! PHEW! UNDER PRESSURE! LOLOL! I then checked in before I logged off to get to sleep and saw that I WON the challenge!! Woo Hoo! I was psyched. So now I should be receiving a few Treehouse Stamp goodies! How cool is that?

This butterfly is one of the Treehouse singles. I colored her in with copic markers and added some stickles to her wings. I cut her out using my circle scalloped nesties, Regal Rose is the larger layer. This awesome glittery paper is by SEI and I mounted that on Chocolate Chip paper. Swiss Dot embossing folder gave me the background, ribbon by American Crafts and once again Chocolate Chip as the mount for the card.

I like how this came out, especially since I cranked it out fairly quickly!

That's it for now! As always thanks for stopping by.

MDC Weekly Challenge Part 2

I'm back with 2 more cards I made for the weekly challenge at Mothers & Daughters Creations.

This great penguin is by Imaginisce. I colored with copics and added stickles. The turquoise background behind the penguin is the awesome C'ordinations paper it has a cool color core and is slighty textured. I love the ripped look and that shows the lighter color blue inside.

This second is another one where I used the Perfect Pearls. I love how you can paint with them and how awesome it looks. I stamped and embossed in white on black cardstock. This flower is by Scenic Route. I cut with my rectangel nesties to make the two layers. The background paper is by Basic Grey but I do think it's an older pad and the ribbon is from my large ribbon stash. I added dots of stickles on the right of the black ribbon just to add something more to it.

Here is the close up of this flower "painted' with Perfect Pearls:
That's it for today my friends. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. I know I probably miss some details.
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget check out the new MDC Blog you will love it! This week if you play along with this challenge and post it to the Challenge Blog you will be entered to win some awesome goodies from MDC! So hop on over to the Challenge site and check it out!!!

Unity Stamp Co Tuesday Inspiration!

I'm up on the UNITY BLOG today sharing some cards I made using 2 stamp sets! I used the February background of the month called   as...
