I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm still stuffed, we had a nice time. I am finally going to see Twilight tomorrow!

Last night after all the food and fun we put up our Christmas tree! I always do on Thanksgiving night. I get it up with the lights and that's it. This morning I added the ornaments, and my 2 year olds help as well. They really enjoyed that.

I wanted to share with you 2 ornaments that I made for the tree. Since I have two 2 1/2 year olds I will not put anything breakable on the tree.

Started with a wood piece in the shape of a stocking from Michael's and covered it with some paper from a DCWV stack pack. The monogram is Just Rite Stamps and I punched it out with my SU scallop punch. Very simple but I thought they came out cute.

This week I didn't get a chance to get Lauren's sketch done but be sure to stop by her blog and check it out as well as the other girls on her sketch team.
Thanks for stopping by!

MDC Challenge

Normally we post our Mothers & Daughters Creations challenge on Thursday but with Thanksgiving tomorrow our challenge is today! This week the challenge was to make a gift card holder.

I had a gift card holder on hand at home which I actually picked up at Walmart. I loved it because it's like a little purse and I am a purse ADDICT! Seriously, have about 150 no joke. I have a problem. OK 2 problems, purses and stamps! :-)

I used some awesome glitter paper by Best Creations and cut the shape out. I kept it pretty simple because I loved the glittery patterned paper.

Be sure to swing by the Design Team's blogs to see what they came up with and also don't forget to stop by the MDC Challenge blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Unity Addicts Challenge

We usually have the Unity Addict challenge on Wednesdays but this week with Thanksgiving and Hip Hop on Wednesday we decided to do the challenge for Tuesday. This week Carole picked our challenge and it was to use red and white (for her son's favorite colors) and giving thanks. Here is my take on this cool challenge.
I used a Stampin Up paper pack I had for my pattern papers. The flower is a cool Unity single. I stamped it on red and heat embossed it in white and stamped on white and embossed it in red. I used pop dots for the white panel and the white flower.
Stop by the Unity Forum for more awesome ideas on this challenge. Also on my sidebar I have links to a bunch of gals who participate each week, so hop on over to their blogs and take a peek.
That's it for now!

What are you doing for Black Friday? Are you going shopping? I never do, just can't stand the crowds. But after you are done shopping and settle in for the night, grab a glass of wine and swing by the Queen Kat forum at PCP for a "Black Friday Night Crop".

Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday Sketch Time

Every Saturday is Lauren's sketch and this week we were to use her Stocking Stuffer template as our "sketch". Have you seen that Papertrey has released and will continue to release "My Timeless Templates"? They are all created by the wonderful Lauren Meader. The stocking stuffer one is a free template so that you can give it a try.

I used some old Basic Grey I think from last year to cut the stockings out. The box holding the treats was made out of SU Mellow Moss. The red and green glitter papers are from DCWV and the ornaments hanging are by Memory Box. I stamped the ornaments and used Stickles to glitter them in. I love this stuff and I think it looks fantastic on the ornaments.

Here is a close up of the glitter.
So who has seen Twilight? I know some went for the midnight showing when it opened! I will probably go next weekend with a friend.

Be sure to swing by the blogs of the other Saturday Sketch Girls to see what they cooked up with this awesome template.

The Gingerbread Men - MDC Thursday challenge

This week's MDC challenge was a "supply" challenge. The DT members rececived a baggie of fun things to play with and come up with their card. I know all the creations will be awesome and probably quite different.

One item in the bag was the cute gingerbread man by Imaginisce. This stamp was actually one stamp with the gingerbread and sentiment together but I stamped it and cut it out. I used Ranger Liquid Pearls for the "frosting" on the little guys who were originally stamped on SU Close to Cocoa. The pattern papers are by My Little Yellow Bicycle. The red florish was part of the pattern papers that I cut out and used a pop dot. All the layers and elements are on pop dots except the first pattern paper layer.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challange blog to see what the others came up with.

Queen Kat's Birthday CELEBRATION DAY!

Today is the BIG day for Queen Kat's Birthday celebration. Come follow the design team blog hop and visit PCP for chit chat. There will be prizes and fun along the way.

My challenge for you is a theme of "A Far Out Christmas". Use your space/robot stamps to create a Christmas/Holiday card. Why not take stamps that are not typical to use for the holidays to make holiday cards. I used QKD "Over the Moon" set. I picked the robot from it. I love this guy he is so versatile. I paper pieced his torso using glitter paper from a DCWV Christmas stack pack. I added stickles as well, gotta love that glitter. The sentiment is from the Build a Snowman set and I used a Fiskar's snowflake punch for my glitter snowflakes (DCWV paper). I embossed my base using the snowflakes embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. All my layers use DCWV glitter papers. All my elements except the bottom layer (striped one) are on pop dots for dimension.

I hope that you like this Far Out Christmas creation because I am going to give it away to one lucky winner along with a few other surprise treats.

Here are the rules of the QKD challenges for today: You have until Nov 21 to enter this challenge. I will randomly pick a winner for my blog candy here and you will also be entered to win a prize from Queen Kat. All winners will be announced on Nov 22. I will announce my winner here and Queen Kat will announce all her winners on the QUEEN KAT BLOG. You can play even if you don't have Queen Kat stamps yet but you if you do use your Queen Kat stamps you will get an extra chance at winning the random prizes.
I hope that you will play in my far out challenge to help celebrate Queen Kat's Birthday! Be sure to continue on your way through the blog hop and your next stop is to visit the wonderful JENNIFER! I know that she will have something super awesome cooked up for your viewing pleasure!

SO NOW GO STAMP AND COME BACK TO LINK YOUR FAR OUT CREATION!! Also everyone would LOVE to see your creations at the QUEEN KAT PCP FORUM!

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

This week was a fun fall challenge with the gals from the Mothers & Daughters Design Team. I made this fall layout of my kids helping rake the leaves to make the yard nice for Thanksgiving.

The base is SU Really Rust and the AWESOME glitter paper is by Best Creation. I love this stuff. This page came out very simple but I thought it looks great with all the glitter from the paper. I cut out a few of the glittery leaves and used pop dots to adhere them to the page. My title and journaling was all created on the computer.

I love how this turned out and it was so simple. These days many find it hard to find the time to scrapbook. But with great papers like these glitter papers by Best Creations it's soo simple to make a stunning page.

I challenge you to make a simple "fall" page. Come on over to the MDC forum at Paper Craft Planet and share your fall pages.

That's it for now.

Growing in Unity Day by Day All Week Long: Day 5

This week of Unity FLEW BY! I had such a blast making all these projects I hope you enjoyed viewing them.

For my final day I have a scrapbook layout to share with you. I love how Unity stamps are all different sizes great for cardmaking and scrapbooking. I have to say I started this hobby as a stamper making cards. Then I started scrapbooking some as well. I always preferred making cards and gifts but once I had my kids I decided I should at least start working on some pages for them. My pages do show the same style I have with my cards but simple is good.
Here is my final project for my week with Unity. Don't get me wrong you will still see lots of Unity.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned because next week is a big week with Queen Kat Designs and a birthday party to boot on Nov 19!

Mothers & Daughters Thursday

It's that time of the year again and Thanksgiving is upon us. How do you celebrate? Ours is fairly low key and basic but nice. I love turkey and the smell of cooking turkey.

This week our challenge was to make something that you can use on your Thanksgiving table. I love all sorts of cute decorations and use "silk" flowers alot. Ok I know some of you might think that is cheesy but with 2 two year olds that works out so much better! LOL! Anyhow, here is what I made for the challenge.

I found paper popcorn boxes at Joannes in their dollar bin so I wrapped that with this awesome paper from Best Creation. You have to check them out they have awesome glittery papers! That fantastic pumpkin is the Quilted Pumpkin by Serendipity Stamps. I cut out the scalloped circles with my nesties and added stickles to the leaf and stem. I also paper pieced some leaves. Here is a close up.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team came up with for this awesome challenge.

That's if for now.

Growing in Unity Day by Day All Week Long: Day 4

Day 4 of my Week with Unity and it is also Hip Hop Thursday!!! SO party peeps head over to the Unity forum at SCS to check out what all the fun. I saved my favorite creation for this week for Hip Hop day!

This is a white craft box that I altered to hold a gift. Check out the awesome butterflies! I LOVE THEM! I got them as singles now I need Angela to release the others as singles as well! I layered the butterflies and added stickles. Yes I use glitter on everything! My pattern paper is from a DCWV Stack pack and I heat embossed this awesome quote in black. Pretty simple but I thought it is rather striking.

But WAIT there is more. You didn't think I would make a gift box with no gift did you? Check out what I put inside. These are bathroom tiles I picked up at a home improvement store. Tumbled tile to be more exact. I stamped the background using the floral stamp from the Believe kit. I used green Stazon Ink. The butterfly worked out really cool! I used to make these types of coasters all the time. I used to stamp with black Stazon and color with Slick Writer markers. This time I really wanted to use my copics for the variety of colors and vibrancy of colors. SOOO, I stamped my butterflies on white tissue paper in my Brillance Graphite Black ink and colored with my copics. I used modge podge to glue and seal the tile! I was so excited how well this worked and it looks great!

Don't forget you have all day to leave comments on my Unity posts this week to be entered to win a Unity Single! I will announce the winner tonight during Hip Hop!

That is it for now!

Growing in Unity Day by Day All Week Long: Day 3

Here we are Happy Hump Day! It's Wednesday and Day 3 of my week of Unity. It is also Unity Addicts Challenge day. For todays creation I combined the Addicts challenge with Amber's Sketch sketch challenge. The Addicts challenge this week was picked by the wonderful Tanis and it was to incoroporate the primary colors: Red, Blue, Yellow or tones of them.

This is the fantastic sketch to work with and my take on the sketch.

I used my October KOTM for my images. My pattern paper is from the Prints Pack by SU. I added stickles to the flowers and owls for glittery shine.

My week of Unity is alot of fun. For all those who comment during this week I will pick a random winner during Thursday's Hip Hop to win a Unity Single.

That's it for now.

Growing in Unity Day by Day All Week Long: Day 2

Here we are day 2 of a Week of Unity. I have been enjoying putting projects together for this and today I have a journal to show you.

I picked up a blank ruled journal at the Michael's dollar section. I tell you people those sections of the crafts stores and Target ROCK for things to craft with! I think I'm hoarding stuff for altering.

I wrapped this gem up with some cool paper by Scenic Route. I used this frame from the September KOTM and the Chicks from Hey Chick. I embossed the frame in green and cut out the middle. I adhered the orange paper underneath the frame. I colored the chicks with copics, added stickles and cut them out. The cute sentiment is also from the Hey Chick kit. The flower I had in my stash of goodies.

This was super simple but I like how it turned out with the bright colors.

Well that's it for now, stayed tuned tomorrow for another day with Unity.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mothers & Daughters Creations is holding a Design Team Call for their Card team. Check out all the details here...

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Monday

Monday's is Scrapbook challenge day with the scrapbook challenge team of Mothers & Daughters Creations.

I started with SU Mellow Moss. My pattern paper is by Imaginisce Fairest of Them All line. I mounted that on SU Regal Rose. Check out that great fairy carriage! That is also by Imaginisce is a clear stamp and is part of Fairest of Them All line.

Now the challenge for this week was to use "handmade" buttons on your page! How cool right? I remembered awhile back I purchased sizzix sizzlet button dies. I pulled those guys out and was able to use the some awesome papers from MDC to cut them out. The journal box is a clear stamp by Basic Grey from the set called Granola All Natural. I'm awful at journaling and never do it. I know I should for future purposes but I never like it. But this time I gave it a try.

Growing in Unity, Day by Day All Week Long!!

Have you heard of Unity Stamp Co? SURE you have especially if you have been visiting. The customer addicts of Unity have started Growing in Unity, Day by Day All Week Long, well it originated with the lovely Ramsey. Each week a Unity Addict has a turn at highlighting Unity all week long. It's sort of a blog hop were each week there will be a new person in the spotlight to show you some awesome Unity projects.

Soooo, let's get this Unity party started. I decided to try and work on more projects rather than cards for this week. I LOVE making cards but I also love using stamps to make gifts and home decor sort of items. To kick off the week I would like to show you a Christmas ornament I made. With two little kids who are 2 1/2 I know I can't have any breakables on the Christmas tree so hey why not make some right?

This little cutie is made using stocking shape made of out wood that I found at Michael's. They are perfect and only $.29! You can't beat that. I got a bunch so you may see more stocking ornaments soon! My background glitter papers are from a DCWV stack pack. The fabulous bird image is from Unity's Bird of a Feather kit. I colored with Copics and added Stickles, cut the cutie out and stuck him on the ornament. Then I had to punch a hole through this little piece of wood. SOOO, I finally busted out my big Crop-a-Dile II Big Bite. I got this gem for 1/2 off with a coupon at Michael's once and debated returning it. Then thought I'd try it out and it cut the wood like butter!! OH it's a keeper! And of course it has a long reach for scrapbook pages etc. Finally I used some velvet ribbon on top and Christmas rope like string through the hole and there you have it. A very simple but cute ornament for the holidays. I'm thinking some of these would make a great gift or gift topper!

While on the topic of Unity projects and this great Birds of a Feather kit I wanted to show you an oldie of mine. Something super cute I made a while back using the birds and some ceramic tiles. You may have seen my post with this magnet set but here it is again for those who missed it another great holiday gift.

If you are interested in the details on this project pls refer to this post or send me a mail I'd be happy to answer!

Thanks for stopping by!

Unity Addicts Wednesday

This week Lisa H picked the challenge and it was an awesome inspiration challenge. Check out these plates she picked as our challenge.

I decided to pick one plate and use the color, image and shape of it. I picked the one with the butterfly and decided to make a Christmas ornament. I picked up some paper "unfinished" ornaments from Michael's. I covered it some paper by Basic Grey. I embossed this awesome Unity butterfly and added dots of gold. The flowers are from Michael's and I used a gold marker.

Here is my take on this inspiration challenge.

That's all I have for now. Don't forget Unity Hip Hop Thursday tomorrow in the Unity Forum at SCS. It's always a blast.
